Many of you are married men with children, in or out of the nest. This Sunday is the one day of the year devoted to honor you. This Sunday is also the day where pastors across the land aim a double barreled blast at dads. But here I want to celebrate your accomplishments. Are you the world's greatest dad? I certainly am not. (But I still wear the T-shirt my kids gave me that says I am. We all know it's not true, but hey, it's a comfortable T-shirt:) But it's not about being the world's greatest dad. It's about progress, not perfection. The fact that you are in M3 proves to me that you are a man devoted to making progress. You know this group is not for couch potato Christians.
Let's look at Father's Day today from a different perspective. Rather than
telling you how to live, let's look at it the way our passage today presents
fathers. Proverbs 23:15-35 focuses on the father as the wise one, telling his
son how to live. Three times in this short passage he says, "my son."
He imparts several priceless gems of wisdom to his son. My dad was a good
provider and model in many ways, but he wasn't very good at imparting guidance.
Yet this is a crucial component of fathering as we see in our passage.
1.- Whether you are a father yet or not, what wise guidance did the father give in 23:15-35 that really impresses you? Please write out the verse or phrase and share your thoughts on it with us.
Obviously, pointing his son to the Lord was and is foundational. "Always be zealous for the fear of the Lord" 23:17. First, how can we help our children and others become children of God? We need to sow the gospel seeds in their lives. Praying is important but, it is no substitute for the gospel. Paul said, "I am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes" Rom.1:16. Our greatestminimovies.com outreach site is loaded with powerful gospel seeds to sow into the lives of others. Please get familiar with this site.
2.- So watch another short
video from our Greatest Minimovies website and share its name and what you thought of it. Then be on the
lookout for opportunities to give out your cards to others. (Remember to put
your points down in the T column= Telling others of Transformation.) What?
You don’t have any cards? Did you text me for some as I asked? :) If you
attend New Life Midway, I will have some for you this Sunday. In the near future, I will be asking you specifically about experiences you've had handing them out, so get armed and dangerous.
Announcements
Above, I said that praying is important, but it is no substitute for the gospel. Don't get me wrong, we need to be attacking in prayer too. Prayer is so important that we have asked each man when he started with M3 to get at least two prayer partners. Some of you have, others have yet to do so. Go to the Contacts tab at the bottom of our Scoreboard sheet and include the name(s) of your prayer warriors and their email addresses. I will be sending out a prayer warriors monthly newsletter the beginning of July, so please have that completed by then. I'm sure you believe that it's important to have people praying for you in this spiritual battle that we are in, so I'm only asking this for your benefit. (You can thank me later:)
It's coming! A week from this Sunday, June 28th at 1:00- An M3 fellowship meal at Jack's home. This one is for adults only. Will you be coming? We need to know by Monday. (I'll ask it as a question then on the blog.) So if you're married, talk it up with your bride. Dating? Bring her. It's a date! Once we get a nose count, we will arrange side dishes.

1. Prov 23:17 "Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the LORD all the day. "
ReplyDeleteI believe this is such great advise because if things aren't going well for us in life it could be very easy for us to envy people that are in the world that appear to be doing well and prospering. But here we are told to continue to fear the Lord because by following the path of righteousness we will find true happiness in Him.
2. The video I watched was: "I'm depending on Jesus and my good works". I thought the video was great because it talks about how we cannot rely on religious rituals to get to heaven, but rather it is through God's grace, faith and Christ alone that we can reach salvation.
Roger I picked out the same verse, people say they are having fun but a lot of times their trying to hide something.
DeleteGreat point Roger- "if things aren't going well for us in life it could be very easy for us to envy people that are in the world that appear to be doing well and prospering."
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the video. And all the lost are depending on their works.
1. Proverbs 23.17.ESV Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the Lord all the day. Don't be jealous of a sinful person. We must understand sin could be fun temporarily but in the long run its empty and leads to death. So we must always keep are eyes on God. Don't be led astray.
ReplyDelete2. Im not a big sinner! Is the movie I watched. It explains that all sin is sin. It also explained we need Jesus in are hearts because no one is sinless. Good movie for those who think there okay and don't have Jesus in their heart.
That sounds like a movie I should watch too show my kids, and the guys at work. Thanks for sharing what its about there are a lot of movies to watch now I know I want to see this one
DeleteAlright James! I picked the same verse as you, Roger and Flo. We've got a convoy going on.
DeleteGlad you liked the video. May we buy up opportunities to pass out the life giving message in our Greatest Minimovie cards.
It seems like this verse is a popular one. I picked it out as well.
DeleteGood words, James. I also chose the same verse too.
DeleteAmen we must keep our eyes on Christ so we are not led astray
Deleteproverbs23;17 Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD. I would my kids not too look at what other people are doing in public, because you don't know what their struggling with behind closed doors. Meaning some people you see drinking meeting good looking girls, are probably alcoholics ,broke or the girls are just users.....falling plates. it reminds me of pastor Mark saying, people who don't have JESUS in their life will try to give up 1 bad habit but yet turn too another proverbs 21;30 There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD. it could also say no plan can succeed with out the LORD
ReplyDeleteSame verse as I picked out Flo.
DeleteGlad you liked Falling Plates. It's such a well made video. May the Lord show you opportunities to give out our Greatest Minimovies cards.
Good advice you gave to you kids bro. We never know what someone's going through behind closed doors.
DeleteGreat comments , Brother Flo.

DeleteProverbs 23:19-21
ReplyDeleteListen, my son, and be wise, and set your heart on the right path:
Do not join those who drink too much wineor gorge themselves on meat,
for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.
Like I have said in the past I indulged in all the bad stuff and I became all of the above to a point. The lord spoke to me and here I am.
2- I saw " set free " I was not so aggressive in my addiction but we all have our own rock bottom and mine was enough to change my life around and be a better father today.
Ephesians 3:7
I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.
I was never really addicted either, but what I did do I jumped in head first, JESUS showed me what could happen if I stood where I was (a few of my friends past away because of drugs or got addicted) WE can thank JESUS for showing us mercy and another way of life ...His
DeleteThanks Guillermo; "Set Free" is a great video. I just re-watched it after reading that you picked it out.
DeleteLet's connect this Sunday and I'll give you several of the Greatest Minimovies cards.
The Lord has set me free from some stuff too bro. Its so awesome to walk in the freedom of our new life.
DeleteThanks Florencio yes he is the answer to my doubts and for sure Dave, Luis it is an awesome feeling
Delete1. Proverbs 23:19. NIV " Listen, my son, and be wise, and set your heart on the right path:" This is some great advice. I believe everything good in life come to those that strive to do good. As the sayings goes " If you make you own bed, then lay in it", "If the shoe fits then wear it. " Sometimes we don't want to listen and we want to do our own thing. When the time had come we start listening and everything works out. God knows what he has planned for us.
ReplyDelete2. That's my King! Wow, he is the alpha and omega. He is everywhere. Do you know him? How can you not. He is indescribable. What a beautiful video. He is ALL i need.
Good words Horacio, and that is such a good video- That's My King!
DeleteHope you're finding people to pass along these life giving Greatest Minimovies to. Best of blessings!
Brother Horacio, as I read your post it reminded me of "When I think about the Lord" by Hillsong www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWxkSAG9vGw
Delete1. "Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off." Proverbs 23:17-18
ReplyDeleteEnvy= "a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another's advantages, success, possessions, etc." Dictionary.com
Synonym: Covet= "to desire wrongfully, inordinately, or without due regard for the rights of others." Dictionary.com
The Tenth Commandment: "You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Exodus 20:17
2. Watched "That's my King" by Dr. S.M. Lockridge
It makes me want to shout, HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen! Shout it out, shout it out because you know He's good...none like Jesus! Bless you Robert. May that heart shine bright today!
DeleteAh Robert, you know I really like that song too! Time to listen to it again.
Delete1. http://bible.com/111/pro.23.17.niv Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord .
ReplyDeleteWe can chase after alot of things in this world. Today we are instructed to chase after the fear, respect and worship for Our God. The Greatest, The Maker of all things, The Creator of the universe.
2. Draw me a picture I watched. It's the gospel message of Jesus. It's always good to remind ourselves the Gospel, everyday.
Good word Eddie. And it's good to know that such good videos are there to pass on to others. see you Sunday.
DeleteGood thoughts, Eddie!
Delete1. Listen with respect to the father who raised you, and when your mother grows old, don’t neglect her. Buy truth—don’t sell it for love or money; buy wisdom, buy education, buy insight. Parents rejoice when their children turn out well; wise children become proud parents. So make your father happy! Make your mother proud! (Proverbs 23:22-25 MSG)
ReplyDelete2. I watched the video that you made Dave, " I believe in evolution". I likes its quick-draw, fact hitting, humorous style. Well done.
So glad you liked it!
DeleteProverbs 23:17-18 (NIV) Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. 18 There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
ReplyDeleteThis is great fatherly advice. I sure needed when I was growing up. I would have avoided getting into trouble. I was too busy envying what others had and trying to achieve it the wrong way. I pray that our children do not fall into that trap, but fear the Lord and follow the narrow path. There is great hope in God than ill-gotten temporary wealth.
2. Watched the "Uniqueness of Christianity"
"There are only two beliefs. There are those who believe that could save themselves and those who believe they need a Savior"
- Harry Ironside
Great intro to Christianity-Will share.
To live in the fear of the Lord is a great place to dwell, protecting us from so many empty pursuits and pitfalls.
DeleteGlad you liked the video, and just by sharing that one card they will get to see that video and so many more.
Sam your children sure have a godly example the can follow in you as you continue to put God first in everything you do.
Delete1.Pro.23.17 "Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord ." We all fall short. But our example it's probably the most important in showing our kids and pointing them to the lord. Thank you Father God for your Son Jesus Christ who is our greatest example on how to live. Thank you Father God for the Holy Spirit may you fill us with it continually.
ReplyDelete2.I watched the video falling plates. This is truly a great tool and a great seed to plant in believers and non-believers lives.
So glad you liked the video George and have already given out many Greatest Mini-movies cards.
DeleteOnly eternity will reveal the great good you've done.
Amen George great prayer thanking God for being our only true example to follow
Delete1- Proverbs 23:17-18
ReplyDeleteLet not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the Lord all the day. Surely there is a future and your hope will not be cut off.
When times get tough it would be easier to throw in the towel and just say "Im going to please my self, after all those who don't know Christ seem to be well off". This scripture reminds me of the hope we have in Christ and our faith in him.
2-I watched Adam and Eve were just myths. I like the quote he said "Christianity isn't true because i believe in it, Christianity is true and I believe in it".
Luis, your comments are great. God encourages us that he will return and that we should never stop believing in eternity with him
DeleteGood post, Luis! I'm glad you included verse 18 because it really demonstrates God's faithfulness to those who seek him. :)
DeleteAmen our indeed is in Christ
DeleteGood words Luis! May we continue to have hope and strong faith.
Delete1. Proverbs 23:24 "The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him." I am my Father's child. If I choose to live a righteous life, it is out of love for my Father, and He has made this choice entirely mine. No one forces us to follow Christ. The Holy Spirit may compel us, but it is up to each of us to ask for the Holy Spirit to descend upon us. All of us in M3 have made a concious choice to live righteously (though we may stumble at times). We know the path, for the path is in the Word, so that even when we stray from it, we can find our way back to it. When and if God chooses to bless me with a child of my own, I will make this choice known to them, and share the Gospel with them that they may choose wisely. Like my Father, I cannot force my children to follow Christ, but if I lead by example...if I light the way and reveal the path, then they too may bring great joy to the one Father who matters most.
ReplyDelete2. The mini movie I saw was "I Thought". I think we can all identify with the narrator in this film; it was certainly a mirror image of what my life was like and what thoughts I carried before I surrendered myself to God and devoted myself to following Christ. It was at once eye-opening and numbing to see that others have come from the same darkness I found myself in and into the light of truth...it is humbling to think of the billions of people who still live in darkness and have not found salvation. This has strengthened my resolve to carry out my discipleship with vigor, starting by sharing in the Word with you, brothers, and by passing out more of my Greatest Mini Movie cards.
Osiris, your heavenly Father has great joy in you, His wise and righteous son.
DeleteGlad you liked the "I Thought" video. I wrote it largely based on what I thought and experienced before salvation (not including divorce or a couple of other things.) My daughter picked out the music, which I really thought was fitting and helped with the graphics. Glad you are motivated to pass out these cards. The seeds just need to be scattered.
Great stuff my brother you are always insightful GOD BLESS
DeleteYou write straight from the heart. God bless you.
Delete1." The Father of a righteous child has great joy, the man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him."
ReplyDeleteProverbs 23:24
With a grandchild on the way, it is great advice from my Heavenly Father to teach the word of Gid and encourage my Sin- in - law to step up and be the Spiritual leader for his child and educate the child so she can become wise and understand God's word and live by it so he can rejoice as she feels the joy of Jesus.
So glad that your grandchild has such a great grandfather, you surely will be of great importance and spiritual influence in her life.
Delete2. I'm depending on Jesus and my Good works video was good and would be an effective tool to encourage my Catholic friends to take a real look at Salvation. Jesus is the only way-- and Salvation cannot be earned through good works nor can it be bought as some organizations imply
ReplyDeleteVery good on both your points Jack!
DeleteHope we can get in a walk soon.
1. Proverbs 23:16 And my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great feeling to hear one of my children quote scripture. How they applied it in a situation or found hope and encouragement when they were down. Maybe shared it with a someone else.
2. The Smart video was a an example of foolish and wise thinking.
Yes Rick, what a joy when we hear our children making biblically based decisions.
DeleteSo glad you're with us. Isn't Smart a well made video?!
1) Proverbs 23:17-18 "Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. There is surely a future hope for you,and your hope will not be cut off."
ReplyDeleteI think this verse pretty much speaks for itself. :)
2) I watched "Smart." It was very entertaining. Needless to say, I loved the verse at the end.
Proverbs 26:12 "Do you see a person wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for them."
Great to have you in M3 Alex you a great young man of God
DeleteAlex, that is a good verse that speaks for itself like so many others.
DeleteIsn't Smart a clever and well made minimovie?! Glad you liked it.
Delete1. Give me your heart, my son, And let your eyes delight in my ways. (Proverbs 23:26 NASB)
ReplyDeleteThis is what I desire for my kids. I want their heart and to delight in what is good.
I shared the whole passage with my older son.
2. We watched the gospel mini-movie together. I'm not a big sinner!" It was a good word for our older son. We are praying for his salvation.
Great words my brother. That's a father desire.
DeleteNic, I'm happy to see you sharing the Word with your son. I need to do more of that with my son.
DeleteOne of the greatest things a parent can do is to pray for there children. May God bless you and your family.
DeleteGreat job reaching out to those close to you. I will keep him in prayer.
DeleteVery wise of you Nic to share the video with Cameron. You now have a bank vault full of valuable videos to watch together with him.
DeleteProverbs 23:19New Living Translation (NLT)
ReplyDelete19 My child, listen and be wise:
Keep your heart on the right course.
1- It's such a great verse. I notice when you start with "my child, listen", that must mean it's something very important. I've noticed since we have been going through proverbs it's filled with such great truths. It's crazy to know that this book was written so long ago, yet the advice can be used daily in modern days. God word will never pass away.
2- A man fell in a hole: The love of God is shown in that video. He comes to lift us up when we are down. It's not by our works but by the work of his hand.
Vince, You're right it's hard to believe Proverbs was written so long ago.
DeleteVince , thanks for explaining "A man fell in a hole" . I was having trouble viewing it and I missed the point.
DeleteGood observation.
DeleteYes indeed Vince! Proverbs is timeless truth. It's still so applicable because human nature doesn't change.
Delete1) Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, (Proverbs 23:20 NIV)
ReplyDelete2) "a man fell into the hole" the man tried so
Many things to get out but the one that worked was diligently praying and he didn't give up. Faith is what saved him
Ricardo, In the video I like how Jesus came into the hole to set the man free.
DeleteYes indeed, the difference was Jesus, wasn't it?!
DeleteProverbs 23:26 O my son, give me your heart. May your eyes take delight in following my ways.
ReplyDeleteThis is another verse where we can see God calling out to us, He wants us to come to Him through our own free will.
The video I watch is I Don’t Think Jesus is God or that He Rose from the Dead. I like how this video highlights the scholars who weren’t Christian studied the resurrection and became believers. It’s amazing how these intelligent people who were setting out to disprove Jesus became believers.
yes thats a great video George! I love that one!
DeleteVery good George! The words to an old hymn come to mind, "On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand." The resurrection of Christ is such rock solid ground.
Delete1 Proverbs 23:23 Truth, wisdom, learning, and good sense-these are worth paying for , but too valuable for you to sell.
ReplyDeleteLearn the word of God, study it ,seek it, memorize it , pray hard and ask God to open your mind to receive it. And never ignore it, reject it or forget it.
2 "The Bridge" This movie tells us that there are two areas that separated by a river. At one side , there is sin and death. On the other side is God and eternal life. In between both areas is a separation with no way to get across. But Jesus has built us a bridge to make it possible to have eternal life with God.
Awesome stuff Louie! You did a great job explaining that mini movie to us. Makes me want to go watch it ;)
DeleteIsn't the Bridge a great minimovie Louie?! So glad you're with us!
DeleteHear, my son, and be wise, and direct your heart in the way. Proverbs 23:19
ReplyDeleteI like this because no matter what you say or do God can see everything through your heart because that never lies. The lord sees your true intentions through your heart.
Amen! yes God sees it all my brother! ;)
DeleteAmen He often sees what we are unable to.
DeleteGood words Andre.
DeleteI trust you found a video you enjoyed too. Best of blessings!
1. Proverbs 23;31-32Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper.
ReplyDelete2. I watched "Adam and Eve are just myths" It explains that they are not myths and we know this because Jesus mentions Adam and Eve in the New Testament as well as speaking about Noah and the Ark.
The wife and i will not be able to make it to the dinner at Jacks house on the 28th. I really wish we could but we have a baby shower that we must be at and it is out of town. :(
great verse.
DeleteGlad you liked the video Phil.
DeleteI know you'd be there if you could. No worries.
1. Proverbs 23:16 16 Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.
ReplyDeleteWhen I speak kindly and stay positive in our household, everything feels better and everyone is happy. When I'm negative, it shows.
2. i got from the movie that we judge people for being sinful. We think its different with them because they sin greater. It doesnt matter with God though. We cant expect to go to heaven and say it was a little sin. God sees it as wrong still.
Amen brother, I can relate to that passage as well. We are the men of the house and if we can keep ourselves from straying off the path that god has set for us our family will surely follow and together we will be worthy to enter our fathers kingdom
DeleteYes Chuy, our moods do affect others. I appreciate your honest sharing.
DeleteYou nailed it regarding the message of the video, when people say, "I'm not a big sinner.
1: My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad indeed: Proverbs 23:15
ReplyDelete2: The video I watched was "what does god look like". It spoke about how people want to know what god looks like. How the bible states nobody ever seen god, but Jesus said " he who knows me knows my father, he who has seen me has seen my father". It said if you want to know what god looked like look at Jesus. How he spoke, how he held himself, how he showed love and compassion. How he reacted to dead religion, but the one I love the the most was how he showed respect to authorities but bowed to no one. Powerful very powerful.
Excellent Jose! So glad you're with us. You're doing great!
Delete1) ) Proverbs 23:18 There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
ReplyDeleteThis verse reminds that when life gets very difficult, that "life is only a temporary assignment." (from Rick Warren's book - Purposed Driven Life) As bad as it may seem to get, it's not going to be forever. What will be forever will be worth the temporary pain and suffering we may go through.
2) My cell phone signal is glitching from the motel we are staying at. I was unable to download and review a Mini video clip.
Hey Dave! No worries. I appreciate you participating as you have been able while on your family vacation. Welcome home soon!
DeleteThis one is for Dave Garratt: Thank you for this great week. Your hard work is appreciated !. Where do you find the time to put this together? God bless you my Brother.
ReplyDeleteThanks Louie. We are so glad to have you with us!
Delete1) 23:24 The father of a righteous child has great joy ;a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.
ReplyDeleteHere is something we can give and be given. Heavenly father help me to give you joy by living your truth out loud.
2) What if I chose to do nothing?
We live in a world that naturally breaks down over time with out the intervention of maintenance. Doing nothing invites the breakdown, The breakdown is the eternal punishment awaiting those who refuse to accept the maintenance. Which is the Gospel.
So glad you've not chosen to do nothing Antonio. So glad we can partner together to advance God's kingdom.
DeletePS- You look so sharp in that white suit!
http://bible.com/111/pro.23.19.niv Listen, my son, and be wise, and set your heart on the right path:
ReplyDeleteIt's so catching, something so important when our earthly father much less our heavenly say "listen, my son", you know it's something one better not miss.
Seen Good God? Evil world!
Like how video pin points That God can certainly stop humanity from sinning but there is the freedom ones own choice. That through these choices there consequences, oh but how significantly important that through bad and often times harsh scenarios we can find grace through Christ.
Amen Ish, you're so right...we better not miss a "Listen, my son" :)
DeleteSo glad you liked the video Ismael. It's crucial we have a good response to that often asked objection, "If there is a good God, why is there so much evil and suffering?" Now we can just have them watch the video and many more. Hope you're enjoying sowing the gospel seeds through the Greatest Mini-movies cards, my evangelist friend.
Delete1) I chose this verse from the Proverbs reading today:
ReplyDeleteProverbs 23:17-19 "Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Listen, my son, and be wise, and set your heart on the right path:"
I had to go with the full three verses together, completing the "Saying". It just bursts with encouragement, especially among us, where it is so easy to look at a non-believer that hasn't put in any work to anchor his life to The Lord, and yet he still seems blessed.....and it is worse if we are ourselves are struggling. But then God steps in and gently and calmly reminds us in the final verse how we are okay, and still on the right path. The reassuring words of he Lord filling our ears and hearts! Priceless!
2) I watched "I respect all religions" from the Mini-movies site. I have heard many people try to point out how narrow minded Christianity is. I also noted how every person I hear this from is not affiliated with any of the religions mentioned. They usually are uninterested parties, that see a chance to complain about religion. I am so amazed through it all though, how Jesus can take care of Himself, how he foresaw that we would need clear indicators and claims, and he made them all in His word to us. He alone is the way the truth and the life. I can and will stake my heart on that alone until I go Home so be with Him. I only pray that the Lord gives me the wisdom I could use to not have people get stuck in these arguments, and instead start on a life giving adventure with Jesus.
Excellent William! May the Lord use you all the more to share with others. See tomorrow for Greatest Mini-movies cards.
Delete1 I would say verse 31 stands out the most "31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright."
ReplyDeleteAlcohol can easily consume people and cause lots of regrets. I would tell my son to be careful not to be a drunkard.
2 I watched the "No Longer a Muslim" video. It was a good video. I read a book called "Once an Arafat man" about a muslim convert who used to be a PLO sniper for Arafat. I got to hear him speak and was encouraged to reach out to muslim people.
Yes Ed, those who consume alcohol are often consumed by it.
DeleteCongratulations, the school year is over! Just in time to start packing, ugh! :)
Thanks for participating on the blog when you were so busy.
ReplyDelete1.- Prov. 23:26. "My son give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways."
This verse is awesome, it reminds me of the day I surrendered my life whole heartedly to God, the spiritual awaking that consume and overwhelmed me, lifting and taking away my hidden burdens. This verse is God's calling for all who trust and abide in his word faithfully will reap in His glories splendor.
2. - I watched "That's my king" Powerful video of Jesus Christ, gives summation of all the wonders of Christ out Savior. Liked especially when it said "the grave could't hold him" I will pass this on.
Very good words Armando and so glad you liked the video and want to pass it on. That's what they are there for. :)
Delete1. Prov 23:20-21 says "Do not be with heavy drinkers of wine, Or with gluttonous eaters of meat; For the heavy drinker and the glutton will come to poverty, And drowsiness will clothe one with rags." --- this is an interesting verse to me, that heavy drinkers and gluttons will come to poverty? It is funny how the pharisees accused Jesus of being a glutton and a drunkard who hung out with sinners. The bible is filled with verses stating that eating and drinking to excess will lead you to debauchery (loss of your senses) and poverty.
ReplyDeleteI just went to renew my drivers license and had to retake a written exam, so I was given the Rules of the Road book to familiarize myself in preparation for the exam. The Driving Under the Influence "DUI" section states that if a person who is driving with .08% alcohol, they can be ticketed, arrested, even imprisoned, and have your car impounded. So, I kept reading to find out, just how much alcohol is .08% , so here it is:
.08% of alcohol = 12 oz of Beer OR 5 oz of wine OR 1.25 oz of Stronger liquor
Now, some body types and a person's weight and gender contribute to how high or low a person's test results will come out at.
