What Would You Say To That?
We live in a land of supposed religious tolerance. But have you noticed that many people are not very tolerant of your Christian faith? So what would you say to the person that says- "Aren't you being pretty narrow minded to think that all the other religions are wrong and only Christianity is right?" Or what would you say if the person said to you, "I respect all religions, the main thing is to be sincere"?
Please jot down things you want to remember and share from the following video-
1.-Just because a person feels good and right about their religion or their way of life, does not mean they are on the right path. Feelings don't make something true. False religions are just that- false. They reject the truth. It is only to those who repent and receive Christ and prove their repentance by their good deeds for God's honor that God gives eternal life. Read Romans 2:5-11 and share your thoughts on it and anything from the video.
2.-Write out on your MP3 card this powerful verse- "Because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath." Rom.2:5
We are in a war against the wicked one. Big Don Fulara is facing such as he is an addictions counselor of some very rough men. He visited one of our M3 meetings a couple of months ago. He sent me this prayer request just yesterday- "I could really use the prayer of your troops. Spiritual warfare at work has intensified. Satan doing all he can to discourage. The atmosphere is becoming racially polarized. I end up feeling very isolated at work. Not succumbing to self-pity yet, but it tries to creep in. Thanks for caring and your prayers." We will pray for you Don!
A big congratulations to Oscar! He just got married Saturday to Ana. Best of blessings upon them both!

1. Very good points were mentioned in the video, like the fact that no other leader from another religion ever claimed to be the Son of God like Jesus did. Also in other religions man has to try to earn his salvation but in Christianity God reaches down to man to provide a way to salvation through His son Jesus.
ReplyDeleteMay we all be strong witnesses to point the lost to the only true hope for salvation - Jesus.

Right on target Roger!
DeleteThanks Roger you brought out a lot of good points about the video and you have been
Deletea blessing to me with all your support God bless you.
Good job mentoring Roger. Keep up the good work.
DeleteRoger, great points-- in Christianity we clearly follow Jesus as he is the truth. The way and the life." John. 14:6

ReplyDeleteLove your digging my brother, "in other religions man has to try to earn his salvation but Christianity, God reaches down to man to provide a way to salvation through His son Jesus".
ReplyDeleteLord, I lift up my brother Roger as he opens his mouth for living bread of yours, may the Holy Spirit fill him up and continue to walk in the path and direction that is a delight to your nostrils.
Oh snap. Intruder alert! : ) venturing into the wilderness of the morning. Have a good day bro.
DeleteAll is well now and great words of encouragement!
DeleteThat was funny Eddie.
DeleteGood job on encouraging Ismael.
1. God didn't give us many pathes. He gave us one path and thats through Jesus Christ. I just pray for all those that are lost and stuck in sin. Its really sad when someone chooses to lead on their own understanding and not god. Good video Dave!
ReplyDelete2. Did it!
That's right James it is sad. I've leaned on my own strength many times and confess that I attempt to still depend on it at times. But just confessing that I can't overcome bad attitudes or can't do it on my own leads us to depending on God and that's when He can really work. By the way it's great getting to know you more James. You're Unstoppable man and it's great to walk alongside you on this journey.
DeleteGood words James! And thanks for your words of appreciation re. the video. Glad you liked it.
DeleteAmen! Very good James! I am glad that we are on that one path together!
Delete1. Reconciliation stuck out to me. It was mentioned several times in today's scripture. We were once enemies of God, enemies of the Cross, but we have been reconciled to Him by Him. Like the video mentioned God reached out to us to break the tension. God took the iniative in ending the hostility even though we were enemies to Him.
ReplyDeleteThanks be to God for giving Jesus, His only Son, for us, so that sin no longs conflicts us with the holiness of Our Heavenly Father and now we can stand before Him as righteous, because we are covered by the blood of the Perfect Sacrifice...the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world.
Thanks Eddie. Your words remind me of Rom.5:1-11, which we will be going through next week.
DeleteYes thank you Eddie! I learn alot from you! Keep doing what your doing bro.
DeleteAmen Eddie.
DeleteOops. I read Romans 1, instead of Romans 2. : (
Delete1.The part of the video that stood out to me is where you talk about a Christian having a clear mind not a narrow mind. It reminded me of this scripture.
ReplyDelete"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."Romans 12 :2
2. Romans 2:5
But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.
Good cross reference George!
Delete1. Human ingenuity, an attribute of God's image given to mankind that can be perverted and used for all the wrong reasons. But by God's great mercy, He has set forth a divine plan of redemption through Jesus. John 14: "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
ReplyDeleteYou really are a great example of a Mighty Man! Thanks of the positive, inspirational messages every morning brother!
DeleteGood verse you point out in Romans 12:2 it is a positive, inspirational message thank
DeleteYou brother.
Thanks Robert! And a tremendous weekend of encouragement!
DeleteChristianity is a personal relationship with Jesus. Jesus points to himself as God while other religions point to others. He wants to give us new life through Him. People that dont lean on the Lord, lead on addictions and bad habits to try to fill that inner void that never gets filled without Christ. Our repentance and good deeds will pay off and lead to eternal life! Thank you Jesus
ReplyDeleteYes indeed Phil and our eternal life already begun! TYF! (Thank You Father!)
DeleteBrother Philip, yes, we have a God size hole/void in our lives and hearts that only God could fill. Nothing else will do!
DeleteI would say to people who think Christianity is being narrow minded it isn't being narrow
ReplyDeleteminded it is being real. Because I know that Jesus Christ is the only one who died for are
sins, they should not think just being sincere about some thing doesn't make it true.
You are very right John just because a person might be sincere about what they believe doesn't make it true. Only Jesus is the true answer. Great to see online.
DeleteYes indeed John! As stated, Just because a person sincerely believes he can fly, doesn't change his landing speed when he jumps off a skyscraper. He would be sincerely wrong really fast:)
DeleteJohn, very good- Jesus is the way truth and lifeJihn 14:6. Lean on Jesus
DeleteBrother John, you're right. Truth continue to be true even when someone sincerely disbelieves it :-)
Delete"Religion" People ask what religion you are, not if you have a relationship with Jesus. I never hear pastors say if you want a Religion come up and I will pray for you to get religion. I have a relationship with Jesus. Jesus was close to his disciples. They knew him. John 10:27 says "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." We plan live with Jesus for eternity not religion.
ReplyDeleteGood reflections Vince!
DeleteBrother Vince, good point! "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27
DeleteIt's ironic that we are discussing this issue. I just had the same conversation about religion and relationship with my work partner he is Catholic he stated his family and him go to church on Easter and Christmas. I told him he was a true Catholic. He stated he was. He stated he watches a Catholic service on T.V. once a week and he felt that was enough. He asked me what religion am I. I told him I have no religion I have a personal relationship with the Lord yes I go to Church but our Church believes in teaching straight from the bible and encourage us to read the bible for ourselves. He stated he understood. The best part of our partnership is he now likes K-LOVE 94.3 when we are in the squad car he is the first to put the radio station on.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome love your story, I'm always at a defensive cause I don't know what to say at times, I just know what works for me mike thanks
DeleteLOL that he puts on K-LOVE! May the Lord continue to use you in his life Mike.
DeleteBrother Mike, my respect and admiration for you continues to grow. Way to go brother! :-)
DeleteRom.2:5-11This passage is a conditional promise from God to all of man kind, a warning, that to live sinfully and disobedient to God's degrees will be justly dealt with accordingly, on judgement day. Those that are not repent full of their sin's and disobedient to God's truth, will experience God's punishment, tribulation and anguish. Gal.6;8 "whoever sins to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction, whoever sows to please the spirit, from the spirit will reap eternal life."
ReplyDeleteLike where the video said that other religions point to other things ?not clear what that refers to and where as Jesus points to himself. "I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but have the light of life."
Very good points Armondo. We need to repent truly from our hearts and more important is live righteously as we receive the Holy Spirit
DeleteYes Armando, religious leaders, don't point to themselves, but to things for their followers to do if they hope to gain eternal life.
DeleteArmando thanks for being good friend and brother you know what to say when I need
Deletea good word from some one God bless you.
I interpret this passage as that no matter what race or "religion" you are, if you don't believe in Jesus than you will not enter the gates of Heaven. If you do accept Jesus, than you will enter the gates of Heaven. It's pretty straight forward.
ReplyDeleteYou nailed it Chuy!
DeleteKey points I picked up from the video.
ReplyDeleteThe only way to the Father
It is about a personal relationship with God.
I pray that we keep being intentional about advancing the kingdom of God.
Romans 2:7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life
Jesus says follow me.
"Let's bring her in on the hillside" This one is just funny.
God reaches to man. Christianity is about trust not works. Lean on God.
Good summary points Sam!
DeleteGood evening everyone, so I read all this this morning and couldn't finish but now I read it again and it all makes sense, how you abide by the law is what makes the difference in my life, there are laws to everything. I remember being judged in a court of law because I had broken laws and didn't care to realize that there is nothing wrong with following the law. It is an awesome feeling following the law, I thank his for explaining things in my life that completely require that understanding.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for explaining this to me and also these specific questions are intriguing to me because I have to break it down completely to find satisfaction to understanding the word and the law
Yes Guillermo, God's laws are a gift for His children, giving us a revelation of God's care for us and His character. But for the lost it reveals their sinfulness- that they are law breakers. None of us can perfectly keep it. We all need a Savior.
Delete1. One of my favorite verses was ,Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NIV). It just sounds like it was said with authority, like, "hey if u want it u have to follow me" I also liked how it said in Romans how he does not show favoritism.
ReplyDeleteHey Rich, I've always liked John 14:6 as well. It's so clear and loaded with truth in such simple words.
Delete1. Christianity is the truth straight from the Word as we believe in Christ and that he is the way to the father. Jesus died so we may have life. It is the only main religion in that we believe in a relationship with God and directly to Jesus, not someone else. Our God reaches down to us and we must lean on The Lord always. God does not show favoritism " Romans.
ReplyDelete2:11 and James 2:1 tell us that we need not show favoritism toward others as God does not show favoritism.
2. Did it
Right on Jack. Even on your vacation you are unstoppable! You are such a great example to others.
DeleteThank you Jack for always be an encouragement to me it really means a lot to me.
DeleteKeep up the good work Jack. Where you off to?
Delete1- Read Romans 2:5-11 and share your thoughts on it and anything from the video.
ReplyDeleteAlthough we are not saved by good works and deeds, works and deeds will be part of God's final righteous, judgment criteria. Romans 2:6 “God will give to each person according to what he has done.”
From the Video – so many well made points. Dave G's last point was” So as long as we hold ourselves as self sufficient, we deceive ourselves and cut ourselves off from God's power.“ I was among those who took pride in being religious and in my own supposed morality. But through God's Word, His Holy Spirit mercifully, and graciously convicted me of my sinfulness and granted me repentance as I put my trust in Christ as my Savior and Lord.
2- Did It.
Thanks Dave!
Delete1) Movie: What stood out to me was that the accusation of being narrow minded was not being rationally thought out. Contradictions don't form unity the form confusion. The idea that sincerity produced reality was not thoroughly thought out either, sincerity while a great attitude is not evidence, but simply the product of being convinced. Finally facts are narrow minded.
ReplyDeleteRomans 2:11 God shows no favoritism. This to me is the crux of the passage. Only on the side of grace is a beneficial thing to us, while we may do good things that deserve praise and reward we also do evil things worthy of eternal punishment and in the realm of eternity we cant have both. Father keep from me what I deserve and shower me in your grace.
And I love your ending prayer Antonio!
DeleteBrother Tony, I agree. The audacity of the world system to say that as Christians we're narrow minded! As if they're the only ones entitled to make absolute statements. "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight." Isaiah 5:20-21
Delete1. One of key statements of the video is that is it said Jesus never said I am one of many ways but said "I am the only way to the father". Also other religion leaders/founders all pointed to others to follow but Jesus points at himself. And the last key to speak the truth with sincerity. When one speak about true authenticity, there can only be one that fits that profile, Jesus Christ!
ReplyDelete"When one speaks about true authenticity, there can only be one that fits that profile, Jesus Christ!" I Amen Ismael!
DeleteBrother Ismael, you reminded me of the following passage. "When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law." Matthew 7:28-29 Great point :-)
Delete1.- Read Romans 2:5-11 and share your thoughts on it and anything from the video.
ReplyDeleteIn Romans 2:5-11 I’m reminded that we need to repent. We can’t just say we believe but keep living in sin, we need to really change. God will judge us all based on what we are doing.
One thing in the video that stuck out to me was the explanation that other religions are man’s attempt to reach God but Christianity is God reaching down to man.
Right on George!
DeleteBrother George, how wonderful a fact. That He would reach down & humble Himself to redeem us, wow!
DeleteOn word truth for today
ReplyDelete-Christianity not based on precepts.
-Take the founders of other religions out of the religion and things will make little difference
-Take CHrist out of Christianity where faith is fully dependent and there is great difference
-We do not speak with a narrow mind if we are speaking in truth, truth based on fact.
-Also all religions cannot coexist because even outside Christianity various beliefs disagree with each-other.
We can store up for ourselves the wrath of God as He judges with exact accounts individuals that choose not to claim Christ. It is only with Christ that we can do GOOD on the sight of God. a false religion will not claim the sacrifice that God (Jesus) suffered died and was resurrected on behalf of humanity
Did it wrote Rom 2:5
Great points Gary!
DeleteBrother Gary, agreed! "If we don't stand for something, we'll fall for anything!" (Author Unknown)
DeleteWell said Brother!
DeleteIn peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.”
ReplyDelete(Psalm 4:8
God promises to give blessings to His beloved in sleep! He wants you to rest securely in Him and be rejuvenated nightly in your mind and body.
Sleep is so important not only to our physical health, but also our spiritual well being. When we are well rested, we are better able to handle the things that come our way. It’s easier to keep our hearts and minds in the right place so we can stand stronger and make better decisions.
If you haven’t been sleeping well lately, ask God to show you what you need to do to get back on track. Do you have cares you need to cast on Him? Are you worrying instead of worshiping? Has a spirit of fear crept in? Do you need to make better decisions about what time to go to bed? Remember, God wants you to be rested. He wants you to be rejuvenated and revived so that you can be your best for Him!
NO PRAYER NO SLEEP!!!!
Brother Guillermo, when I was younger I'd regularly abuse and neglect my need for sleep and rest. Through Biblical principles I've learned that God gives us rest and we should be good stewards of this gift. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28
DeleteKeep up the great work, you're becoming unstoppable :-)
Good Job Guillermo. No bible no sleep either. I also like no bible, no breakfast. Man does not only live on bread alone but on the word of God.
DeleteFrom Joel Osteen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving credit where credit is due. That speaks well of you.
Delete1. Like the video and the Bible said, Jesus claimed to be the ONLY way to Heaven and God. He made that quite clear. As a result, one should never endorse the idea that it doesn't matter what religion you follow. It does matter. Jesus is the Truth; there are NO others.
ReplyDeleteYa got that right Alex!
DeleteBrother Alex, I'm glad to see you pressing forward. We're blessed to have you on-board young man!
ReplyDelete1. I like when Dave G wrote "I wouldn't call a christian "Closed Minded", I would call them "Clear Minded and Rightly Focused". I also like the quote, " If all the religions in the world are true, then God is schizophrenic!"
ReplyDeleteIn Romans 2: 5-11, I am reminded that the Jews thought themselves to be a holy people, entitled to their privileges by right, while they were unthankful, rebellious, and unrighteous. But all who act like this, of every nation, age, race, and religion, must be reminded that the judgment of God shows no partiality and that everyone needs to be "Born again" in order to enter the kingdom of heaven :)
