"The King James Version is the only correct version of the Bible!"
The following video exposes that false assumption. It also talks about the Catholic Church Bible with the added books of the Apocrypha. This all starts at 16 minutes and 30 seconds, so you can fast forward to that spot. If you have more time and interest, you could watch the first part which gives an interesting overview of how we got our English Bible. Enjoy and be enlightened!
Very good video of the bible today we can use it to talk to some one about and share word.
ReplyDeleteThe Word has gone through several translations. Scholars attempt to look at the most puriest and dated forms to translate from. Thankful that the people recognized a need for it to be translated to English.
ReplyDeleteGreat history lesson of the bible. It's amazing how it came into my hands. Thank God.

ReplyDeleteVideo= Great history lesson :-)
DeleteThe KJV Bible was written in "SHAKESPEAREAN LANGUAGE" and quite honestly I personally have not adapted well to it's reading. I prefer a more contemporary easy to read and understand interpretation like the NKJV, NIV, The Message, etc.. Though the translations have changed to meet the needs of our ever changing vocabulary, the message is consistent and true to the original manuscripts.
Very interesting History Lesson here. It is ironic, I have 3 different Bible versions I study; the NASB (Near the Most literal translation), the NIV (Near the mid spectrum between literal and readability) and the NLT (Most readable and easy to understand, not close to the literal translation). To be honest, my favorite version is the NASB :) In this video, near the 25:17 mark, an interesting chart of translations is given, that is where my comments are based.
