Th.2.12.15...Being a Godly Mentor...Encourage part 9

What are our greatest tools for mentoring and molding MANLY men? From the beginning of our coaches training, we have seen the vital importance of the word and prayer for influencing men, even men that may be cold or hard like a rock. “Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that shatters the rock?” Jer.23:29. We have also seen that as coaches, we need to be godly examples and encouragers. We’re beginning to discover how we can powerfully encourage others by not only using our words, but God’s word as well. This gives us such a deep well to draw daily from. You’re taking a verse or truth written to all believers and personalizing it. This has been incredibly enriching and encouraging! This gives a new insight into Paul’s words-“He (the elder) must have a strong belief in the trustworthy message he was taught; then he will be able to encourage others with wholesome teaching…” Titus 1:9 NLT.

Yesterday, we began to dig into an incredible gold mine with which we can enrich others. You mined out and shared treasure from Eph.1:3-8. There is probably more gold there per square inch than anywhere else. And there’s more gold to be found today.

G.a.-Read Eph.1:9-14 and as we did yesterday, pick out one of many great truths within it. Use that truth as the basis of a short prayer of encouragement and post it for the brother above you on the blog. This time please go directly to his comment and click Reply so he sees your powerful words right under his writing.

 By the way, I was so impressed with the riches and prayers you shared from God's word.  How encouraging! By using God's word, it amplifies what you share. You are combining the word, which is like fire and a hammer, with your prayer for that person whom you mention by name. This is so strengthening and encouraging. Paul said, “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.” 1 Th.2:8. Build endearing relationships with your loved ones and proteges. Share your life, your love, and your encouragement. Do you want to increase your intentional influence (your leadership)? Then increase the number of encouraging words and deeds you do each week. You’re becoming a GREAT influencer and coach as you focus on the E of GREAT- Encourage others. Make it your ambition for the rest of your life to give encouraging words to others (calls, cards, emails, texts, face to face sharing). They will be built up and be grateful to you. By the way, if you’re ever feeling down and want to get out of the pits, encourage a few other people. It works!

Speaking of Totals, on our first day of friendly team competition, Alpha Force totaled 30 points and Delta Force totaled 30 points. Wow! And way to go! (Should we have a tag team mud wrestling event for a tie breaker?:) For fun, I think I'll award "The Traveling Trophy" at each monthly meeting to the team that leads the way by the end of each month.

To award you for what you've already been doing, please start crediting yourself for the people that you shared something with from your MP3 card. Starting tomorrow, you'll see a space after the MP3 "Did it" area to simply put down the number of people you share with. All I ask is that you only credit yourself for 1 per person or group. In other words, if you send out a group text or email regarding what you gleaned in M3, or share with a small group or your family, please just count that as 1. Scoring could go through the roof otherwise:)
