Almost There!
Most of you are almost done with one of the two parts of Coaches training. (Just as
with driver’s ed. there is the written and the road test.) Many of you have
almost completed the 3 months of the blog training. Others will finish that in
the next month or so. But all of you have the opportunity to complete the road
test soon by recruiting 2 pros to coach. Thankfully, you won’t have to coach them all
by yourself. Your whole team of fellow coaches will be making encouraging calls, texts and blog
comments to those new recruits when they join us soon.
These next two days are your final written test. (Relax, it’s an
easy A. And after this, as I said, we will only do weekly reviews as need be. The proteges will do weekly reviews regularly.)
Today, go back over the first half of our series on Being a Godly MENTOR
(Jan.19th-Feb.6th). Pick out 2 things you really liked and write
about them, as if you were sharing with a man interested in M3. If this helps
you get started, you could begin by saying, “One of the things I really liked
learning about recently in M3 was…” (Tomorrow we will take the second half of
the series from Feb.9th-25th.)

4.- Thanks for the kudos from a few of you on the video I made for you. It includes some of your testimony in it. I posted it on yesterday's blog. If you haven't watched it yet, please go back and do so now. Did ya like it? Then list your protege prospects you want to send it to.
G. How many individuals or groups did you get to share and enrich from your MP3 card?
R? (Only type the letter R if you sought to Right a wrong.)
E? Did you Encourage a teammate since yesterday on the blog/or apart from it? This includes passing on the new M3 testimonies video to protege prospects.
A? Attacked in warfare prayer? Then just type the letter A. O Lord we WAR to live Worthy lives, to Activate sidelined saints, and to see the lost Released from Satan's captivity.
T? Feel free to also share outreach opportunities you had, or you can just put up numbers.

I am so proud of you men! Two nights ago, Alvin had the guts to let the team know he was feeling overwhelmed. The next day several of you responded with encouraging calls, texts and emails. Here's what Alvin wrote late last night- "I am more than a conqueror...Today I received an incredible amount of "cover fire" from M3! The calls, texts, and emails of encouragement are exactly what I needed to move forward!" This reminds me of the true story scene from "We Were Soldiers" when 400 soldiers were being attacked by over 4,000 Viet Cong. Like Alvin, they were being overwhelemed by the enemy, but they called out for help and got it. I chocked up watching this scene, thinking of you, my fighter pilots coming to the aid of a brother being overwhelmed. If you have the time to see this powerful scene, please do so. (I cant edit these so there is a GD statement.)
If you're ever feeling overwhelmed, then please text us- "Broken Arrow!" A text will guarantee we all get it. We'll be there for you! And the enemy is going to meet our fury!
Congrats to our 10+ scorers (those that scored 10 or more points)- Jack and Israel both with 10 and Sam with 12! I called up Sam, thinking that perhaps misunderstanding what the T represented. He had put up a 5 in that category alone the day before. Men, Sam has been reaching out to unsaved men and even offering to pay their way to the winter retreat! God bless you Sam! He's not doing this for the praise of men, but we honor Sam. May his dedication spark more effort on the part of others. And I am really looking forward to our Sun.March 15th meeting to introduce a powerful resource to help us all greatly increase our Telling others of Transformation.
Please don't forget to knock out your weekly GPD by Saturday. You're an expert at this. See it on our Sunday 2.22 blog post.

1.- An important thing I have learned in M3 is the great challenge that is given to us by Paul, that we are to persue godliness above other things. Because godliness not only will affect our current ministry but also has eternal value. May we be able to follow Paul's example and be a clear, decisive, unstoppable and Godly follower of Christ so that in turn our proteges may also see a good example in our lives worthy to be followed.
ReplyDelete2.- Another important thing I have learned in M3 is that as a mentor we need to hold firmly to the trustworthy Word, in order to be able teach our proteges in the ways of God and also be able to identify false doctrines.

Very good Roger! What about the man Daniel commended to you? Was it George Guzman?
DeleteOh yes thank you. I forgot. Will do it.
Delete1. One thing I have learned being a part of M3 is the importance of encouragement. When someone is down, or discouraged, the best way to help them find their strength is to point them to Gods power and promises.
ReplyDelete2. Another great thing I learned is how to be noble in battle. We need to:
W-Walk in a Worthy manner. So pray and fight the good fight to live a MANLY life.
A-Activate the sidelined saints. So pray that they would long to be Power HOUSE men. Also keep sharing what you’re learning and invite them to join.

ReplyDelete1. I enjoyed the Biblical perspective of being a godly model. Not that we're perfect, but we're to make a conscience effort to pursue excellence and mimic the attributes of Jesus Christ.
ReplyDelete2. I also enjoyed the lessons on encouragement. We all need encouragement at times and we can receive it through God's Word and fellow brothers in M3.

ReplyDelete1 - 19 - 15
I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day;
I'd rather one should walk with me than merely tell the way.
The eye's a better pupil and more willing than the ear,
Fine counsel is confusing, but example's always clear;
And the best of all preachers are the men who live their creeds,
For to see good put in action is what everybody needs.
I soon can learn to do it if you'll let me see it done;
I can watch your hands in action, but your tongue too fast may run.
And the lecture you deliver may be very wise and true,
But I'd rather get my lessons by observing what you do;
For I might misunderstand you and the high advice you give,
But there's no misunderstanding how you act and how you live. Edgar A. Guest.

ReplyDeleteThis verse speaks to me, I enjoy going through coach training to prepare me for what matters. Helping followers grow in their walk with Jesus.
2) I like to encourage others with sound doctrine- I find myself doing this at times. I believe this is part of our calling. In order for us to persevere through trials, we need to encourage each other and what better way than God's word (sound doctrine).

Very good Sam! Yes, Igniter Media has many good videos. I"ve seen the "I Am Sin" ones also. The "Smart in Our Own Eyes" video that we saw last week was done by them.

Delete1. I truly enjoyed the message on Encouragement--" surely I am with you always until the end of the age." Jesus lead by example for us to follow just as Paul and the other Disciples led and so are we to do--always encourage others. Show love in all we do, as it is Satan who attempts to derail us and discourages us when we are weakest. Men, focus on the Lord and lean on him and build lifelong relationships with Brothers as we encourage each other to stay in the word and live by it..
ReplyDelete2. Modeling-- More is caught than taught! This is so important as we lead others, as they will be watching us always to see our example and our dedication to the Lord and M3. Again, we follow Jesus model and show love in all we do. Pray with protégés, stay in the word and live by it Brothers.

ReplyDeleteOne thing that came out of January 20 that was very helpful was the instruction to Timothy. 1 Tim 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."
Not just because of being young and in ministry but the essence of Paul's statement is that we can set an example in all walks of life. Let us not forget that, even as we are salt and light of the earth that other believers that are not yet activated are watching.
2
Secondly the day that I remembered is our conversations about encouragement. At times like we are in now the battles get dirty and tough and discouragement rears its ugly head. I personally have been facing some difficulties at work and there were things representing road blocks obscuring my sight on Christ. I remember though that there are brothers at every side and the one thing that we all wrote as a part of our MP3 that day was
"Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Mt.28:20.

Delete1 One of the things I really liked learning recently in M3 was about how much more effective it is to mentor men to be manly men by being a good model for them to see for themselves. David G. shared a neat poem by Edgar A. Guest that stressed how much better it was to show and demonstrate something instead of just telling someone about it.
ReplyDelete2 Another thing I really liked learning about recently in M3 was learning about a weapon against discouragement. “one of the greatest weapons to wield against the enemy of discouragement is faith expressed in praise. We lift up the shield of faith with praise.

Excellent Dave!
Delete1. Probably the most important thing that I've been learning through M3 is that there is a place for men in the life of the church where there is unity of purpose and vision to see other brothers saved, discipled, and on mission!
ReplyDelete2. "How can a young man (and maybe some not-so-young men also!) keep his way pure? By living according to Your Word!" M3, rightly, focuses upon scripture as the guiding and sustaining bulwark of my faith. Too often we attempt to maintain our spiritual vitality with too little emphasis upon God's Word. Not so with M3! The daily MP3's and the daily devotion both enhance my quality time with God!

brother Alvin, I loved your posts, I feel the same way about M3 :) Thank God the Lord is working in your life so much right now. I am sure the enemy has increased his attacks as well. I loved the video clip of the air support helping you in the fight! Awesome :)
DeleteAlright Alvin! And your wife encouraged me with her appreciative email. We're a part of a great group of men!
Delete1. One of the things I really liked learning recently in M3 was In 2 Chronicles 2:20+ this verse reminds me of the verse in Exodus 14:13-14 that states, "Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”" Many times, we must confront the enemy, as a prayerful opponent, and NOT as a combatant! I Love the fact that the Lord fights the battle for us! We just need to pray more :)
ReplyDelete2. Another thing I really liked learning recently in M3 was: The bible states, "He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it." --I know one of our responsibilities is to "Prevent False Teaching" from having a platform at our church, which corrupts whole families. The faith of many christians and new believers has been shaken and overturned by these false teachers. They must be silenced and rebuked sharply. Oh Lord, please give me great understanding, a humble heart, and wisdom with boldness for the truth, use me to refute ALL false teaching head on, sometimes with grace and sometimes very sharply!!

Good Daniel! Great things await us!
Delete1. The lesson on discouragement was great, especially when you consider it as cropping God out of the picture. Only when I'm solely reliant on my own abilities and thoughts am I in a vulnerable position subject to discouragement. However when my trust is in God then I know there's having faith and relying on my Father to do compensate for my weaknesses.
ReplyDelete2. The other lesson I found great value in was where it talked about Vending Machine Christianity which isn't relational Christianity. It's something for me to bear in mind even in hard times and also realize that some things I'd be inclined to pray for, are fulfilled in God's timing and require staying strong and being steadfast.

Good Kentrayle.Thanks for the kudos re. the video. Whatever I can do too help you.
ReplyDelete1. One of important topics we have covered that I like is the meaning of M in mentoring and that is Modeling. 1 Timothy 4 : 12 and paraphrasing here to set an example in speech, conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Through much time of being feed in the word, it is time that the word loves out through me in my speech, in my love, through my conduct and through purity.
ReplyDelete2. Another I liked is "E" for encouragement through our discouragement and in those often times I have found myself being the harshest critic to myself not even comprehending that that's what the enemy wants to do to us and that completely decapitate us and not advance God's kingdom. BUT through M3 band of brothers I have learned that this unity and band is here to stay and here to encourage each other if we're in a little rut, but also through the "great vine" God has given us the resources to keep fighting and pressing forward.
