Adrian and I were on a first name basis, though we never met. He was like a wonderful father or grandfather to many. He was so gifted at taking a passage and presenting it in such a simple yet powerful manner. Many places in my Bible you will find some of his points with his name by it. Today's passage, Ecclesiastes 11, is an example. So in honor of Adrian, I'd like to give you his six word outline of Eccles.11:1-6, followed by my comments. In his message, he applied the passage to one's financial fitness, but the passage can also be applied to one's spiritual fitness, which is what we will do here.
1. Invest- 11:1. Invest in the lives of others. Like casting God's seed, God assures that you will reap according to how much you sow or invest in others. It will come back to you. Aren't you glad you're sharing God's word and the gospel seed (such as Greatest mini-movies) with others? Only those who don't will regret it. Adrian said, "I'm a nobody telling everybody about Somebody who can save anybody."
2. Diversify- 11:2. "Give portions to seven, yes to eight" Don't keep what you have. Give. Many see a cross reference to Jesus' parable in Luke 16:1-9. When the "disaster" of death occurs, you will be very glad you gave to others. They will welcome you into eternal dwellings. May I challenge you to give to seven, yes to eight men. Strive to recruit seven or eight men over the next few years and give them lots of encouragement. They will create for you such a huge family tree as they give the same to others as well. Don't tell me you're too insignificant for God to use you in this way. Adrian said, "You can be too big for God to use, but you can never be too small for God to use."
3. Prepare- 11:3. Prepare for the certainties of life. "Where a tree falls, there will it lie." Duh! One of the certainties of life is that there will be uncertainties. That's why people buy insurance and have an emergency fund. Look down the road of your life. What do you see that you may need to prepare for? Paul saw "terrible times" coming (see 2 Tim.3:1). I think one of the best ways to prepare for such terrible times is to be in a strong band of brothers. So glad we are! Prepare. Mean business for God. "God does business with those who mean business." Adrian
4. Risk- 11:4. "Whoever watches the wind will not plant." Some will always find excuses not to improve their life or advance God's kingdom. They may fear possible failure or rejection, so they don't sow into their future or into the lives of others. Too many watch the wind, looking at people, trying to decide if they would be interested in spiritual things, rather than planting seeds. The power is in the seed of God's word. Risk sharing it with others. Take rejection as a badge of honor. The apostles were beaten for taking the risk to share God's word. They left the Sanhedrin "rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name" Acts 5:41. They said, "Yes" to the Lord's will. "Two words that will change your life- Yes Lord." Adrian
5. Trust- 11:5. Solomon reminds us again that there is so much we don't know. So how then could we possibly know or understand the work of God? Thus, we need to trust. As it's been said, "When you can't trace His hand, trust His heart." When you have sought to do what's good and right and everything seems to be going wrong, "trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding" Prov.3:5. You will discover God can be trusted. "Our great need is to discover that Jesus is all we need." Adrian
6. Work- 11:6. "Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle..." Farmers had more than one field of endeavor. So do you and I. We need to work at our job and then come home to work on our marriage and family as well as our spiritual life. If a man is not liking his sparse harvest, he often just needs to increase the quantity and quality of the seeds he is sowing. "It's what you sow that multiplies, not what you keep in the barn." Adrian
Adrian worked so long and hard for the Lord. Here's a video tribute in honor of him. May his life inspire us as well.
1.- If you have a favorite radio pastor, please share who it is and where his broadcast can be found.
If you don't typically listen to sound biblical preaching apart from church, please take advantage of so much that is available to you via the radio and the internet. Check out what your other brothers are enjoying.
2.- What is one thing that strikes you from our passage, Eccles.11:1-6, and what we covered about it on the blog today? As always, write that down and look for opportunities (take risks) to sow that good seed in others lives today.
You will note that we didn't cover all of chapter 11 today. That's because I believe that 11:8-10 actually begins a new thought that goes into chapter 12. So we will look at all of that together tomorrow.
You may recall that chapter divisions were not introduced into the Bible until 1227 AD by Stephen Langton. These weren't always the best placed, as we noted today. The Hebrew Old Testament was divided into verses by a Jewish rabbi, named Nathan in 1448. Robert Stephanus did the same for the NT in 1555. Thank God for the work of these men. How easy they've made it for us to quickly find any passage. Otherwise we would be constantly saying, "somewhere it says." Note that is what the author of Hebrews said about the words of God in an Old Testament passage, "Somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words, 'And on the seventh day God rested from all his work.'" We know those words can be found in Gen.2:2.
PS- Adrian Rogers was also a master quote-smith. Enjoy!
"Death is just a comma to a Christian, not a period."
"Some people brighten up a room just by leaving it." :)
"I'm not always what I think I am, but what I think, I am."
"Failure in the past does not nullify purpose in the future."
"The weakest ink is stronger than the best memory. Study with pen in hand."
"What you are alone is what you are."
"Meditation gives you knowledge about God. Obedience gives you knowledge of God."
"You can save a lot of time waiting on God."
"You are free to choose; but you are not free to choose the consequences of that choice."
"Light refused increases darkness."
"Never give the devil a ride. He will always want to drive."
"Discipline says, 'I need to." Duty says, 'I ought to.' Devotion says, 'I want to.'"
"We're to love people and use things, not love things and use people."
What if you could see yourself age from early childhood to old age in short order? You'll see that happen to a man tomorrow. How does that morphing man tie in with what you'll face tomorrow? Come back and see
1 I used to listen to Alistair Begg when I was living in Chicago. I can't really listen to the radio anymore, so I read on my bus ride to work, or listened to hymns while I walked to work.
ReplyDelete2 I guess the verse about risk stands out. I should share my faith more often.
Allister is very good.
DeleteLook forward to hearing more about your settling in.
I like Alister. Do you have internet radio.
DeleteEd, I look forward to you planting more seeds. God Bless you bro
Delete1. Chuck Swindoll has been a favorite since I was knee high to a grasshopper. He can be heard at 90.1 or insightsforliving.org
ReplyDelete2.Ecclesiastes 11:6 NIV
Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well."
The principle of sowing and reaping has never mislead me. Where I do not sow I do not reap 100% of the time!
very practical.
DeleteUncle Chuck has enriched so many of us. What a great man! have to tell you sometime about the time I met him.
DeleteDave, keep sowing brother
DeleteGreat thoughts there Dave, thanks for sharing.
DeleteIs it considered sowing , if you meet someone for the first time and you notice that this person is going thru problems. You ask this person if you can pray for her/him and they accept?
Delete1. I listen to Chip Ingram, James Ford on Moody at times. I also have Andy Stanley's podcast I listen to. I also listen to Bethel church podcast.
ReplyDelete2.Ecc. 11:5 As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.
Job 37:23 The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress.
Yes trust is a major factor. But we are called to walk by faith, not sight. And when you can rest in the shadow of His wings, a God who is capable to do all things and anything, why be one of little faith or trust...
I believe as we grow in our experience and understanding of what we have been formatted by God to understand; our trust/ faith expands as a consequence, allowing us greater peace in our times of darkness as we move forward in that darkness uninformed by our senses but protected by Gods character and power. We walk on water as we trust His words more then our past life experiences.
DeleteI too really like Chip Ingram and Andy Stanley. Your ending quote is excellent too Eddie.
DeleteGood cross verse and good reminder that god is almighty so why fear anything.
DeleteThere are many great posts and replys. Each brother uses his God given ability to write and exalt the Lord. Thanks to you Eddie and the band of brothers for your encouragement.
DeleteThanks for the feedback fellas.
Delete1. I enjoy listening to Pastor Tony Evans on Moody radio. It airs Monday thru Friday at 1:30 p.m. He always gives a sound message that is full of thunder behind it. Such deep passion.
ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 11:5 As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
Many have tried to discredit the existence of God since the beginning of time. As humans we always try to find the orgins of when things where created or made. Some things we will never understand with science. It's God's intervention that makes all things possible. Perfect example is prayer! Prayer had healed so many thru the grace of God that many scientist or doctors are often amazed at its extraordinary power.
Its all about faith! Good verse!
DeleteHoracio, what a great example of faith, prayer.
Delete1- I listen to a variety of pastors. Among my favorites include
ReplyDelete* Judah Smith - Via podcast and church website
* Steven Furtick - Via phone app
* Andy Stanley - Via phone app
* Mark Driscoll - (although not on the pulpit right now)
2- Ecclesiastes 11:5
As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything. -ESV
For me Trust is the main point that sticks out. Trusting in God when nothing around me seems to make sense or when things seem overwhelming. In situations like this I like to visit Matthew 6:25-34. It always gives me the boost in confidence to know that God is there for me when I need him and all i need to do is trust that he will do what only he can do.
Amen may we all trust God when nothing around us makes sense. He has all the answers.
DeleteYears back I remember going thru some heavy problems. I remember that when I would close my eyes , I would feel as though I was at sea in a storm . I would feel as though the huge wave were tossing me. I would start praying and asking God for peace. The wave would settle to a calm. Faith in God. How ? Only God knows our problems. Only God Can fix them. Trust in the Lord. Thank you for your post, Luis.
Delete1) i listen to pastor Mark Driscoll on Pod Cast
ReplyDelete2) As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything. (Ecclesiastes 11:5 ESV)
you need to understand what the spirit can do so can also understand that nothing is to small or to big for God, if he can create a baby in a womb he can create anything in the world for he created Adam from dirt and Eve from Adam.
simple explanation yet so profound bro. Also, Mark Driscoll is a great teacher.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI do miss Driscoll. Thanks for sharing.
DeleteAndre. Great point brother.
DeleteAlso, Mark Driscoll is a great messenger. Too bad he got into such problems-/ only Gid knows all the circumstances
1. I never listened to a radio pastor before so I am curious to check out those that are listed by others.
ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 11:6 Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.
You never know how God will bring about your success, all that matters is that you keep working and trusting in him.
I encourage you bro, do so. You can download podcast or apps on your phone and have them on the go. Its always good to hear different styles of preaching as well.
DeleteMichael, always be be ready to sow the seed. You will be a great servant of God! Trust in God .
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI'd encourage you to check some radio pastors out too, Michael. It could be pretty encouraging during the week.
DeleteGood thoughts by the way. I agree!
Yes indeed Michael. If there is not a Christian radio station in your area in Iowa, there is plenty available via the internet.
DeleteI bet Sarah can recommend some of her favorite speakers.
1. Pastor Ford on WMBI
ReplyDelete2. Eccl. 11:6 " Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well."
Reminds me that I should not be complacent but rather always be living with a purpose in life all the time.
Great Roger. We need always move forward and advance the Kingdom
DeleteGreat post , Roger.
Delete1) There are so many great radio pastors but I deeply enjoy Tony Evens on moody FM 90.1 and Robert Jeffers AM1160
ReplyDelete2) 11:9 Holman Christian Standard Bible
Rejoice, young man, while you are young, and let your heart be glad in the days of your youth. And walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all of these things God will bring you to judgment.
God has given us much to enjoy and boundaries to protect us from harming ourselves or others. If we submit to His commands we simultaneously accept his wisdom and its benefits.
Amen only by submitting to Him will enjoy our life.
DeleteLol Tony..... You read too far :) But I know you, you were just anxious to study tomorrow's bible verses! Wow, great hunger for the Lord :)
Deletelol that's too funny.
DeleteI personally really enjoy listening to Antonio Palomar on M3 ;)
DeleteAntonio, I like the way you bible words Eccles 11:9
Deletemy bible, good news, reads: young people , enjoy your youth. Be happy while you are still young. Do what you want to do, and follow your hearts desire. But remember that God is going to judge you for whatever you do.
Looking forward to hear some Antonio Palomar sermons
Delete1: Honestly I don't really have a favorite radio pastor, when im in the car I listen to worship music on Pandora.
ReplyDelete2: Ecclisiates 11:4. Whoever watches the wind will not plant, whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
Jose, you have come so far in such a short time. Keep it up brotherGod is using you brother
DeleteAwesome Jose, Worshipping Christ while driving:) what can top that? I agree with Jack, it is great to see you growing in the Lord and to see your faithfulness blogging everyday, keep on seeking God with all of your heart, mind, body and strength.
DeleteJose , Eccles 11:4 described me some time back. When the spirit would lead me to witness, I would make excuses for not making the approach. As you come closer to the Lord. The love for him guides you thru.

That is truly the only way to live, by faith and trust in God.
DeleteI almost picked that verse Jack :) Good choice, Yes, to live by Faith and Not by sight :)
DeleteJack, I agree.
DeleteGood verse Jack. I like how you put it - We live by faith and must always trust in God
Delete1. I like a few: Mark Driscoll, from Mars Hill in Seattle; "The Bible Answer Man" -Hank Hanagraaff ; Ravi Zachariah from RZIM.org ; Tony Evans from WMBI
ReplyDelete2. Ecc. 11:4 says "Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap." ---the paralysis of analysis can hit us all at times. What we need to be careful of, is the fear of failure and never try anything or reach out to anyone. This reminds me of the 3 servants that were given talents from the King before he left for a long trip. Upon arriving back, the king called each of the 3 servants to give an account of what was entrusted to them. The first 2 servants invested the talents and created or multiplied more and the king rewarded them. The third servant did nothing with the talent that was entrusted to him and the king was furious with him and cast him into the outer darkness :(
Oh God, help me to be a wise son and manager of everything that is entrusted to me, please give me divine wisdom and understanding, Amen.
Good words bro! I pray that we all use are talents given by god to please him and advance his kingdom. Amen
DeleteIsrael, that is great." Paralysis of analysis".
DeleteGood post, Tio! I love your thoughts on the verse! "Paralysis of analysis" is a great name for that fear of failure.
DeleteI enjoy Ravi Zachariah and Tony Evans a lot too.
1. I don't really listen to pastors on the radio but will look more into it.
ReplyDelete2. “He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.” Ecclesiastes 11:4 ESV
I like what pastor Adrian said about rejection is a badge of honor. I need to remember this when time comes again to share my faith and my head starts filling with doubt. I got to remember im doing this because I want to advance gods kingdom and save others.
Continue, James. The step you are now making will become hurdles in your race for the Lord.
DeleteI like that part about rejection to James. Great thoughts bro!
DeleteI want to encourage you to use your commute times, etc to try various pastors recommended James. I think they can be a great help.
DeleteWill do ^
Delete1) I don't listen to pastors on the radio
ReplyDelete2) “As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”
We will never understand the great works of our GOD, but we can just be in awe of how he works in our lives
How great is God! The create of all things. Ricardo, continue my brother, you are doing great!
DeleteI'd encourage you to start listening to pastors on the radio, Ricardo. There are some very good sermons.
DeleteI will ditto Alex :)
Delete1. I don't listen to anyone on the radio. Just news radio.
ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 11:6 Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that,or whether both will do equally well.
Alway take advantage of opportunities is what I get from the verse and from todays word. Opportunities at work and at home with family and God.
Chuy, take advantage of listening to a Christian radio station on your way to work or going home from work for a week. You'll get a brief updates of the news plus either inspiring music, thought provoking discussions, or great Bible instruction. Try it - you may like it.
DeleteChuy, you and I have to start listening to Christian radio station. There were lots of good recommendations.
DeleteAs with the others, I'd encourage you to listen to a Christian radio station too, Chuy. A very good station is 90.1 Moody Radio. They have lots of very good pastors and talk shows on there. Plus, they have news too, but with a better perspective.
DeleteDitto :)
Delete1. I rarely listen to radio. There was a time I did and the pastor I would listen to was Tony Evans.
ReplyDelete2. Eccles 11:5. God made everything and you can no more understand what he does than you understand how new life begins in the womb of a pregnant women.
There are things that God allows us to see , to explore, to find truth in. Then there are things that we would never be able to comprehend. Things so beyond our imagination. These things, we are to accept thru faith . God created all and only he knows all. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Very good thoughts Louie!
DeleteI encourage you to take advantage of such excellent daily Bible teaching available to us.
Louie, Tony Evans is good. When I'm flipping the stations and come across him I'll stop to listen.
Delete1. Kanklefritz on KLOVE
ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 11:4 Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plan, If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.
What's the pastor's name? What time does he come on?
Delete1) One of my favorite radio preachers in John MacArthur. His radio program is called Grace To You. The web site to listen to his sermons is https://www.gty.org.
ReplyDelete2)Ecclesiastes 11:4 Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
If it is the season of planting one should be busy sowing and scattering seed. If it is the season of reaping one should be busy gleaning, picking, plucking, gathering and harvesting. But those who focus on watching the wind or looking to the clouds will not be active and busy doing what needs to be done. Because of concerns and excuses, maybe even laziness they talk themselves out of taking the golden opportunity, and miss it completely. We ourselves may, in a way be watching the wind and looking at the clouds. When the thought enters our mind and we talk ourselves out of something as easy as giving out a Greatest Mini Movie Card to someone we know or meet we've missed a golden opportunity. We held back on doing what we should have done for what ever excuses.
One of Adrian Roger's quotes that Dave G shared today was: "Discipline says, 'I need to." Duty says, 'I ought to.' Devotion says, 'I want to.'" Oh Lord, help us to want to do more.
David, my phone is low on juice. Glad I had time to read your post. Keep up the great writing , and keep planting.
DeleteGreat thoughts Dave and John MacArthur is an exceptional Bible teacher.

God works in mysterious ways.
George, I first started listening to Dr Luther about 2010 and found it very gravitating how he was able to present theological knowledge and personal application within his messages
DeleteGood verse choice, George. By the way, I love listening to Pastor Erwin Lutzer too.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite pastor on the radio is John MacAthur as he has a diligent adherence to the word of God as well as apologetically standing up for it.
2
Ecc 11:4 He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.
I noticed verse 11:4 as we are required to be diligent in paying attention as well as patient in path before us. In the alternate mindset if we pay too much attention we cannot invest into an opportunity. If we are to patient the blessing or the outcome will be missed.
Yeah, Pastor John MacArthur is a very good listen. Good thoughts on the verse by the way. I also want to thank you for the encouraging texts you send me throughout the week, Gary. Thanks! :)
DeleteI have benefited much from John MacArthur over the many years. So glad you are gleaning from his as well.
Delete1- A new beginning Pastor Greg Laurie. He is funny. Yet explains the word in simple terms. Great pastor. WYLL 1160am 7am Monday-Friday
ReplyDelete2- Ecclesiastes 11:5 New Century Version (NCV)
5 You don’t know where the wind will blow,
and you don’t know how a baby grows inside the mother.
In the same way, you don’t know what God is doing,
or how he created everything.
To me it's a great example how we don't know what God is doing or how he created everything. It's like we should not worry how God did it, but rather that he did. Let's not worry how he change our situation, but that he can and will change our situation.
Glad you like Pastor Greg as well Vince.
DeleteVince, I'll have to look for Pastor Greg. Humor is a good tool to help people remember.

ReplyDelete2) Ecclesiastes 11:4 "Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap."
Ecclesiastes 11:6 "Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that or whether both will do equally well."
I think these verses are telling us to always be diligent.
Yes indeed, I have listened many times to pastor Lutzer- 10:30 in the mornings.
DeleteGood observation Alex!

ReplyDelete1.- Dr. Charles Stanley, "In Touch" broadcast on AM 1160 M/F 12:30pm, based in Atlanta
Also Dr. Tony Evans " The Urban Alternative" broadcast on Moody, based in Dallas
2.- Ecc. 11:2 (diversify)
Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.
Lk. 16:9 (Ecc. 11:2)
I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
Very good Armando!
Delete1 - I don’t listen to a lot of radio, when I do I usually flip between KLVOE and Moody. One program I like is Open Line with Dr. Michael Rydlenik Saturday mornings on Moody (90.1 FM) He’ll take calls and answer the questions about the Bible people call in with.
ReplyDelete2 - Ecclesiastes 11: 6 Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another—or maybe both. I like how you remind us that not only do we need to work for a living we need to work on our marriage and our family. Sometimes it easy to take them for granted.
I like listening to him too. I even got to go to a Bible study in his home a few years ago. Funny story. He sounds so young on the radio. I thought it was his mother answering the door. So glad I didn't put my foot in my mouth.

Same here Ish! Tony Evans is great!
DeleteGood picks Ismael and good talking with you yesterday.
DeleteThought you would like that verse :)
1) Two men I have really liked listening to is David Jeremiah and Tony Evans. Both are very sound on the word and can be heard on Moody's 90.1 WMBI
ReplyDelete2) The verse I chose is:
Ecclesiastes 11:6 “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.”
I really liked the point in the outline concerning Work. "It's what you so that multiplies, not what you store in the barn"
Good picks as well to listen to Will.
Deletelooks like I posted in the August one, since this one was not the home page. I will have to revisit. I like Tony Evans and Greg Laurie

2. - Eccles.11: 5 as you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed[a] in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.
1. I typically go to Oneplace.com and listen to a variety of ministries.
ReplyDelete2. The outcome of matters is determined by the Lord.
1. I also have not listened to much specific talk show programming. Recently caught a catholic radio broadcast that was rather refreshing actually. Not what I expected, as they were not going on at length about the need of reconciliation with members of the church that are coming back seeking.
ReplyDelete2. (Ecc: 11:4 NASB) One who pays heed to the wind will never sow,
and one who watches the clouds will never reap.
I enjoy living out here in Indiana in the fall harvest time for this reason. The times of harvest are a lesson in faith and the hard work of planning and prep. Worrying about it being dry, or wet isn't entirely why farmers fail to harvest these days, it is the preparation of knowing, you will get the harvest, at the time when you are prepared. One day you are driving to work, and there is a full field of crop; acres upon acres of it. The next day it is gone- Preparation and timing were key, as soon as the farmers unloaded they began harvesting- with not a moment to lose.
1. Growing up Catholic, I didn't start listening to Christian radio until just this year. I downloaded Pastor Jobe's Straight Talk app and listen to it on my way to work or anytime I have at least a half hour drive ahead of me. I will definitely be on the look out for other local radio pastors to continue my spiritual growth. You guys have done a great job of providing several options in your posts. Thank you, brothers.
ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 11:5 As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. This verse has fascinated me since I first read it with a critical lens about two years ago. It caused me to pause and I thought, "Surely the people of the time in which this was written had no way of knowing the path of the wind or how a body is formed in the womb, the science of it was simply beyond them, but we know these things now." Sophisticated meteorological instruments can show us the path of the wind and tiny cameras can show us the development of a child in the womb. At least in this regard, science has caught up, and yet, despite all our accumulated knowledge...despite our advancements in science, what do we really know about the work of God. How little we understand of this! In an age of god particles and artificial intelligence, we claim to have unraveled or accomplished what was only known to God, but this is a fool's boast. When it comes to knowledge of the work of God, we are not knowledgeable than a newborn child. May we seek, always, to know God through the Word and through the Gospel of His Son, our Savior. May faith in God's wisdom and power satisfy our need to understand His work.
