How meaningless and such a sickening misfortune to have a fortune and not to enjoy it. John D. Rockefeller at one point was a sick man. But his health and happiness turned around when he began to give his fortune away. He lived to the ripe old age of 97. How sad when God blesses a man with great wealth, but he doesn't enjoy the joy of enriching others. Paul reminds us of the words of our Lord Jesus, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" Acts 20:35. The enjoyment of life begins by being thankful for what you have, and it spills over by giving to others. God has given us this great present called life in Christ. Remember, a few weeks ago, we opened this PRESENT and found what to focus on to enjoy life-
Praise God for who he is
Rejoice in who you know are in Him- His dearly loved son whom He rejoices over with singing
Enjoy the moment- come to your senses- taste and see the Lord is good.
Smile and sing :)
Encourage others
Never dwell long on the negatives
Thank God and others often
Solomon's view of life from under the sun, not from the Son, led him to a pessimistic outlook, which all of chapter 6 reflects. Again, those that don't grasp this understanding of the book, come up with twisted views of life. Consider Solomon's words regarding lost mankind- "All man's efforts are for his mouth, his appetite is never satisfied" 6:7. But Christ has given us new life to our spirits and now we are to make every effort to grow in Christlikeness. Jesus also said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied" Mt.5:6. The lost need to heed Jesus' words, "Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you" John 6:27.
Again, from only an "under the sun" perspective, Solomon asks, "Who can tell him what will happen under the sun after he is gone?" 6:12. However, we are not limited to an under the sun speculation of life and death; we have been given revelation as to what will happen after a man dies. "Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment" Heb.9:27. Thus, Paul said, "we try to persuade men...For Christ's love compels us...he died for all that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again...we implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God" (excerpts from 2 Cor.5:11-20).
"All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation...we are therefore Christ's ambassadors as though God was making his appeal through us" 2 Cor.5:18,20. What a great honor to be ambassadors, representatives of Christ the King. May we evermore be on the lookout to share the good news that people can be reconciled to their Creator. They don't have to live alienated from God. You and I were once lost and separated from God too. But others shared the good news with us. Now we are doing the same. It was good reading the stories you shared yesterday of people you have passed out the message of salvation to via our Greatest Mini-movies.
1.-Please watch a new Greatest Mini-movie and share it's name and briefly what it was about. Then be on the look out to pass this message of reconciliation on to others. (Let's do this on a weekly basis until we've viewed them all. I want you to know well what is available to point people to. Paul would compare these to spiritual weapons (2 Cor.10:3-5). So know your weapon well.
Nic recently gave out a couple more Greatest Mini-Movie cards to his driver's ed students. Here's what he wrote- "I gave a card to an 84 year old driving student. I prayed that God will touch her heart. She may not be around many more years. Also gave one to a christian teen student and told him to check out the videos." Very good Nic! Wow, she's 84 and still learning! May we all be lifelong learners.
2.- Read Eccles. 5:18-20 and 6:1-12 and then write out the verse you picked and a cross reference you found to it.
Speaking of death, Solomon bemoaned the man who died without a proper burial (6:3). So long as you are in M3, you will be honored by us upon your home-going. It may not be as big of a turn-out as Chris Kyle, the American Sniper, received upon his tragic death, but we will honor you in a special way as one of our own- a MANLY M3 man.
What was it that the Navy SEALs adorned Chris Kyle's coffin with?
Find out tomorrow.
Find out tomorrow.
Speaking of wealth today, if I gave you $1,000 each day you went from the blog to the scoreboard and put your points there, how many days would you skip doing such? Never right? So you can do this. It's not even hard work. So please imagine you are getting that amount put in your bank account. Help me, yourself and your team by doing this. Ka-ching! Ka-ching! :) Thanks for your faithfulness here. If need be, go back and fill in for Monday and Tuesday. I'll be looking to see your good work. :)
Some may not have understood the request from Monday or Tuesday. It was to contact the one or two men who are in your newly formed fire team and write down the names of the guys they are seeking to recruit to M3. Please do that today if you haven't yet. See the scoreboard to confirm your fire team members. Go to the Contacts tab to find their phone numbers and load them into your phone if you haven't done so yet. Note: Your Squad leader is over both of the two fire teams in your squad, so he is not in your fire team. They have to put up with me as their coach :)

1. I watched falling plates today. Which I think goes along with the scripture I choose as well. The video talked about how we separated ourself from God and chose to search for other things to fill the void.
ReplyDelete2. Ecc 6:9a Better what the eye sees than the roving of the appetite.
What we see right in front of us is at hand. But one who is not satisfied keeps looking for something new, bigger, better, different.
Proverbs 17:24 - a discerning man keeps wisdom in view, but a fool's eyes wander to the ends of the earth.
And a good cross ref as well Eddie. Bueno!
DeleteEddie thanks for your faithfulness and continued encouragement of others
DeleteGood cross reference verse. May we chase after God and not things of this world. God bless.
Delete1.The movie: 5 objections. It's a straight shooting vid that gives straight answers to common objections.
ReplyDelete2.Ecclesiastes 6:7 NIV
All man's efforts are for his mouth, yet his appetite is never satisfied." Cross reference: "Death and Destruction a are never satisfied, and neither are the eyes of man." Proverbs 27:20
Bueno Dave! How's about a walk?
Delete1. Prodigal Girl Video - Very touching musical animated video that shows the life of a prodigal girl leaving her family and God to pursue her own life in the world. But after running into problems and being abandoned by her so call friends she returns to God and finds acceptance and forgiveness for her sins.
ReplyDelete2. Eccl. 6:12 "For who knows what is good for man while he lives the few days of his vain life, which he passes like a shadow? For who can tell man what will be after him under the sun?"
God is the only answer to these questions that are asked. Only He can give us true meaning and fulfillment during the time we are given to live on this world. May we always seek Him in everything we do.
Roger. Glad you are back bro and thanks for your continued encouragement and effective posts
DeleteVery true. He's the one who fills us up. Good verse bro.
Delete1- Watched KKK Leader.
ReplyDeleteIts just amazing how God is able to reach anyone and turn their life around for His glory.
2- Ecclesiastes 6:10
Whatever has come to be has already been named, and it is known what man is, and that he is not able to dispute with one stronger than he. -ESV
Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there's no use arguing with God about your destiny. -NLT
--Cross Reference Verse --
Job 9:32
"He is not a mere mortal like me that I might answer him, that we might confront each other in court.
Luis. Very good as he knew all before we were born. Thanks for your dedication to M3 brother
DeleteI saw kkk leader . It amazing how God can make complete changes in a person . All we have to so is ask of our Lord.
DeleteGreat minimovie. Glad to see you digging in with two translations and a cross reference Louis!
Delete1. It's not about religion-- it's all about a relationship with God! Jesus died so we can live. It was short but effective and a good reminder of what it's all about me and my God.
ReplyDelete2. " they seldom reflect on the days of their lives because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart." ECC 5:20
True happiness and joy comes from the Father as we focus and live for Jesus. We can enjoy every day as we feel the presence of The ahold Spirit in our hearts and focus on the Kingdom of God. Life hear is just a must but eternity with God fulfills our hearts and gives us unmatched confidence and joy.
Good explanation on verse Eccles 5:20
DeleteAmen Jack, true happiness can only come from the Father.
DeleteGood Jack. That's such an interesting verse. It's so easy to be preoccupied with burdens, yet God would like to occupy us with gladness of heart. Bueno!

1) SMART- This video was about Man thinking that we have all the answers to the world and be more wise than God, but there is more hope for a fool than man. We might think we are smart but understanding we have much still to learn.
ReplyDelete2) "For who knows what is good for man while he lives the few days of his vain life, which he passes like a shadow? For who can tell man what will be after him under the sun?"Ecclesiastes 6:12 Cross Reference But it will not be well with the wicked, neither will he prolong his days like a shadow, because he does not fear before God.(Ecclesiastes 8:13 ESV)
the ones that think they are wise in this world should have the understanding that they might not be able to give the best advice. But God allows us to share his wise words passed through the gospel.
Yes Andre he knows all and knew all before it all began, his word gives us wisdom.
DeleteAmen Andre only His gospel has the truth we all need.
DeleteI'm liking what you're writing there Andre :)
Delete1. I watched lives changed. It was a great video of how God changed this guy and his family totally around even tho they went through hardships. It also showed how he chased fame and fortune and found out it just led to emptiness. Great testimony.
ReplyDelete2. “Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the appetite: this also is vanity and a striving after wind.” Ecclesiastes 6:9 ESV
This verse explains that chasing fame and fortune in this earth is pointless because it will never completely satisfy you. It explains we should be blessed and happy with what God has already blessed us with. The only way to complete fullfillness is through Jesus Christ.
I tried to find a good cross reference but didn't see anything similar to this verse.
I saw that video, too. It's very good .

ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 6:12For who knows what is good for a man during his lifetime, during the few years of his futile life? He will spend them like a shadow. For who can tell a man what will be after him under the sun?
Psalm 39:5
You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.
A life without Christ can certainly be empty regardless of accomplishments and attained wealth. I pray that we help others see the light of prosperity. Which is Jesus. God bless.
You are so right Sam a life without Christ is surely empty regardless of accomplishments.
DeleteVery good Sam! Really like your prayer- I pray that we help others see the light of prosperity. Which is Jesus. God bless.
DeleteI have one request. Mike De Mesa (one of the unsaved guys, I send scripture to) has lost his job. He is looking for work. He was receiving about a couple bucks over minimum. If you know of an opening. Please send me a text.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who is hiring, but what kind of work is he hoping to get?
DeleteAnything over minimum would be good
DeleteProverbs 10:19 Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.
ReplyDeleteGreat cross-reference, brother. The wise man confesses his sins with his mouth, speaking only the words that are necessary to ask the Father's forgiveness and repent of his ways. Wiser still is the man who speaks only to point others to the Father, and avoids the path that leads to sin.
Delete1. I watched set free. Its about how a man came from being a drug addict to turn his life around in jail. He first showed repentance when he told is bible study leader that he wanted to pray for another inmate that he had conflicts with. After he was released he started to work outside the jail to help inmates that are being released. Amazing testimony.
ReplyDelete2. Eccles. 6:7 everyone's toil is for their mouth, yet their appetite is never satisfied.
Jose. Thx for the review of the flick-- it makes me want to watch it. It's great to see you grow brother
DeleteVery good Jose! Look forward to talking with you tomorrow.
Delete. Today I watched " lives changed". This is about a young man who grew up in an abusive home. His mom was a single parent who did what she could to provide for her children. He was a loner who lived in fear of bullies at school. He felt not accepted. At one point had thoughts of suicide. On a visit to a church, and with the little he understood he accepted Jesus. He told his family about the difference and peace in his life. In time mother, step-dad, and brothers also accepted Jesus. .
ReplyDelete2. Eccles 6: 10. All things are decided by fate; it was known long ago what each man would be. So there is no use arguing with God about your destiny.
God is our creator. He determined our destiny long ago. He decided if we were to be male or female, and what our race should be. It was he who decided who our parents should be. We should never complain or argue with God about our being . Accept ourselves as God's great creation and give him thanks always.
Amen... " Accept ourselves as God's great creation and give Him thanks always.
DeleteAmen Louie! I was telling another brother just today about how I enjoyed you and your encouraging heart.

ReplyDeleteParallel verse to ecclesiastes6:10 is Isaiah 45:9 - 10.
ReplyDeleteWoe to the man who fights with his Creator. Does the pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with him who formed it? Saying , "stop , you're doing it wrong!" Or the pot exclaim, " how clumsy can you be!"? Woe to the baby just born who squalls to his father and mother, " why have you produced me? Can't you do anything right at all?"
1. Good God! Evil World? At times i all myself why certain tragedies happen? After seeing this video i get a good understanding of what our mission is. We must step in and do our part.
ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 6: 3 If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not satisfied with life's good things, and he also has no burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.
6:3 a hundred children Numerous children were considered to be a blessing (see Psa 127:3–5)
Psalms 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.
Good Word!
DeleteGood Horaciao. O to enjoy what we have!
Delete1. Watched 'I dont think a loving God would judge me"
ReplyDeleteThis had a good example of how it would be wrong for God not to judge us. If a judge let go a person who robbed us of our belongings we would be outraged. Same with God.
2. Ecclesiastes 5:18 This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot.
Cross Reference to this:
Ecclesiastes 6:3 A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.
Just what I was looking for Chuy. Very good.

Delete1. I watched choosing to do nothing and it was about how not taking God seriously and accepting his word is like playing russian roulette with your life.
ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 6:11 The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone?
Cross reference:
Proverbs 29:20 Do you see someone who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for them.
Very good Michael :)

ReplyDeleteIt's not by our works but what Christ did on the cross. He is the way to heaven. No other way. Jesus is the bridge.
2-Ecclesiastes 6:2New Century Version (NCV)
2 God gives great wealth, riches, and honor to some people; they have everything they want. But God does not let them enjoy such things; a stranger enjoys them instead. This is useless and very wrong.
Cross reference: Psalm 17:14New Century Version (NCV)

They have many sons

ReplyDeleteI was watching never been unloved. This is a good video describing that in-spite what we can think about ourselves that we have always been loved by Christ because he died for us all. Sometimes the effect that the truth that the bad news can have is our tendency to beat ourselves up about the guilt and the condemning nature we all possess. However while every detail of the saving power of the gospel reigns supreme we cannot forget that Christ beard all of hat which holds us accountable against God
2
Eccles. 5:18-20 and 6:1-12
I chose to look ate verse 6:11. We cannot take the refrain despair out of context that a man can take to much heed and too much care for the advantageous things as well as the wisdom of the world; so with all of this gain where is a man’s advantage.
referenced to: Therefore pride is their necklace; violence covers them as a garment.
I agree Gary- we have a tendency to beat ourselves up. The enemy loves to help us with that.
Delete1. Having trouble viewing the mini movies.
ReplyDelete2 Ecc.6.2." God gives some people wealth, possessions and honor, so that they lack nothing their hearts desire, but God does not grant them the ability to enjoy them, and strangers enjoy them instead. This is meaningless, a grievous evil." Ecc.5:19 and 5:13 Say the same thing. God's rain fall on the righteous and the evil.
1. Watched 321
ReplyDeleteLove the prince and pauper analogy. Christ takes our sin and shame but we get the riches of righteousness and his glorious name.
2. “There is an evil which I have seen under the sun and it is prevalent among men- a man to whom God has given riches and wealth and honor so that his soul lacks nothing of all that he desires; yet God has not empowered him to eat from them, for a foreigner enjoys them. This is vanity and a severe affliction.”
Ecclesiastes 6:1-2 NASB
This man gains the whole world and never enjoys it. He will also lose his soul. What a shame. Let's live for God and enjoy the fruits of our labor.
You da man Nicpal!! My wingman brother! ;)
DeleteI agree Nic- Let's live for God and enjoy the fruits of our labor.
DeleteHad a good conversation with Rich Petre yesterday. Great brother, so glad you recruited him.
1. Watched "don't all religions lead to the same God." --- No way!!!! Jesus claimed exclusivity to God the Father by stating that "He is Way, the Truth and the Life and that no man comes to God the Father, except thru Him" Jesus always pointed people to come to Himself as God!
ReplyDelete2. Ecc. 5:19 says "Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil--this is a gift of God.". A very good cross reference is Ecc. 3:13 , which says "That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil--this is the gift of God"
Amen! Great stuff Israel!!!!
DeleteGreat cross reference Tio!
DeleteVery true, Tio! Great cross reference by the way!
DeleteYou even quoted from the video- "No way!!! :)
Delete1. “Written 700 years before he was born.”
ReplyDeleteIt namely gave verses and parts of Isaiah 53 indicating the suffering of Christ far before he came to be. Telling people of his life and the suffering to come. Parts not able to easily replicate or duplicate in the nature of one prophesy and all the others that would come as well.
2.-
6:11 – “The more words, the less the meaning, and does that profit anyone?”
I came to find the nature of debating, for the sake of debate to be meaningless. Some people are there to test our resolve of prayer and conviction to them. The more we say the less impact it has, but us speaking is not the point. We are to ask that God speaks to them, to them in dreams and in their hearts. Pointing. Forcing. Not allowing them to detour from His truth. Until they turn again and only see more signs- more of His Love pointing them the way.
Sounds like an interesting movie my brother :). I think I might watch that one next
DeleteYes, some people the Bible calls fools, because they are hardened to the truth. With such people, we are not to waste our words. A question or two will do.
DeleteSo enjoyed chatting with you yesterday Rich.
Lord, give my brother favor.
1. I watched ''Smart in our own eyes" It talks about science and theories that people used to believe was true and now years later it had been proven wrong. Maybe we are not as smart as we think?
ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 6:10 Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny.
What translation are you using, brother. NIV read differently from this, but the translation you've shared of Ecclesiastes 6:10 really clears that verse up for me. "So there's no use arguing with God about your destiny." It can't be made any clearer than that. To think that Christ, Himself, could not argue with the Father about His destiny (and he tried in the garden the night before He gave His life for us on the cross). Who are we to question our destiny. Our destiny has been made clear to us by Christ. Our destiny is intertwined with the Father. As he gave us life to point others to Him, he desires for us to return to Him at the end of our life as His children and heirs. There is no greater destiny that that.
DeleteGood verse for God's sovereignty.
DeleteThat is a confusing verse isn't it the way the NLT renders it?! It is the only translation that renders it that way, making it sound like man's destiny or fate is sealed. Yet we know from other scriptures, man can change his destiny first by choosing Christ and second by choosing Christ's way each day. So glad you are doing that daily Phil.
Delete1. I watched "Don't All Religions Lead to the Same God?" If you've kept up with the news of late, then you'd probably agree that our society is, as AC/DC put it, "on a highway to Hell." This has to do a lot with the fact that so many among us don't know that Christ, and Christ alone, has saved us. Worse still, many know Him and live as though they don't. This video makes one thing very clear: there is only one way into Heaven. Jesus is the Truth, the Way, and the Life. Only through Him can we ever hope to attain eternal life in the presence of the Father. In our world of "political correctness", we are expected to respect all religious views and to not bring up religion in conversation because someone may be offended. But Christianity is NOT about religion...it is about a relationship with the One True God...the God who took the form of man to live among us, and died on the cross that we may live with Him for all eternity.
ReplyDelete2. Ecclesiastes 6:12 "For who knows what is good for a person in life, during the few and meaningless days they pass through like a shadow? Who can tell them what will happen under the sun after they are gone?" The reign of Solomon pre-dates the birth of Christ and our salvation. How grim life must have been for the men of Solomon's time. In stark contrast to our own reality, Solomon's words contain no hope, no purpose...no meaning, and who could blame him for having such a bleak outlook on life? But Christ has saved US, and it is through Him that our lives have gained purpose and meaning. It is through Christ that we have the hope of the resurrection and the promise of eternal life. Indeed, the life of a man living in the time of Solomon would have seemed as the passing of a shadow...meaningless. We know our purpose, to multiply MANLY men. We know the meaning of life, that the great commission defines our life. We have hope...and it is our responsibility to spread that hope onto the world.
Good feedback on the video. I have to agree the Christian message is politically correct and it is offensive, the bad news comes before the good news, and the indictment comes before the offer of forgiveness and to top it off you have to take responsibility for your actions and their consequences. But if you do, what a world of goodness that is opened up before you.

DeleteGreat thoughts and points Brother Osiris! I enjoyed reading them :)
DeleteGood analogy, your words are inspirational brother.
DeleteBeautiful on both points Osiris!
Delete1) I watched the smart video. Predictive conclusions about the future seem to be pretty dangerous and unreliable, so it seems we should be careful to separate what we know from what we guess.
ReplyDelete2) 6:3 Holman Christian Standard Bible
A man may father a hundred children and live many years. No matter how long he lives, if he is not satisfied by good things and does not even have a proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.
Suffering and difficulty are guaranteed, even by Jesus; but if we fail to enjoy the good set before us, from the sharing of the gospel to a good cup of custard, from worship to sheet music with our wives, from studying the Word to basking in His Presence then we have failed to enjoy the abundant life by being overly fixated on the broken life.
Good words brother, the worldly entrapments can send one in a tailspin and rob you of your focus.
DeleteMay we all stand strong and steadfast when these challenges our encounter.
DeleteVery good Antonio! I'll add taking a break to sit and drink lemonade with friends :)

1) I watched - Falling Plates
Jesus is speaking throughout the movie in the first person to the video viewer. It's like Jesus speaking personally to the viewer and sharing the problem of sin and what He did for them because He loves them. It ends with Jesus asking if they will follow Him. I thought it was clear and very well done.
2) Ecclesiastes 6:1-2 > I have seen another evil under the sun, and it weighs heavily on mankind: 2 God gives some people wealth, possessions and honor, so that they lack nothing their hearts desire, but God does not grant them the ability to enjoy them, and strangers enjoy them instead. This is meaningless, a grievous evil.
I wonder if Solomon may be referring to his father King David here? King David had accumulated much wealth and honor. He did live a long life but did not enjoy the extravagance of Solomon. For one reason he stored his treasures for the future temple that was to be built after he died. Solomon, his son would build that magnificent temple. King David was “generation-ally” minded meaning that he cared and was concerned for those who came after him . He was concerned for the spiritual needs of the generations that would come to live after him and intentionally provided for them.
Good observation brother, your postings are always enlightening
DeleteGood video summary Dave and good wonderings. May we be all the more future generations minded.
Delete1.- I watch "I respect all Religion"
ReplyDeleteVideo explains differences of all other Religions in contrast to Christianity.
Christianity is God reaching down to Man, inviting us to lean on Him n trust Him. Jesus points to himself and says through him is the way and only way to our Father.
Other religions believe in many god's, are required to earn their way and in attempt to reach their god.
2.- Ecc. 6:7
Everyone's toil is for their mouth yet their appetite is never satisfied.
Cross reference is:
Isa. 5:14
Therefore death expands its jaws, opening wide its mouth; into it will descend their nobles and masses with all their brawlers and revelers.
Those who set their hearts upon the world will be justly disappointment.
Love that statement Armando "Christianity is God reaching down to man..." Great stuff brother!
DeleteVery good thoughts on the verses, Armando!
DeleteGreat ending quote too Armando- "Those who set their hearts upon the world will be justly disappointment."
Delete1) I watched "Falling Plates". I remember seeing this sometime ago before, loving it. So glad I chose it because it always hits home in my heart. It has to do with explaining God's original design for us, how we fell, how we tried to find our way but get lost deeper and deeper....and ultimately how God loved us so much, that He sent His son to rescue us from our downward spiral to death.
ReplyDeleteIt is a compelling video, and all the more so because of the eye catching imagery that is used throughout the video to illustrate the speakers points. Definitely one I plan to share!
2) Ecclesiastes 6:11 "The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone?”
Cross reference:
Ecclesiastes 5:7 “For when dreams increase and words grow many, there is vanity; but God is the one you must fear.”
I like the verse choice, Will. By the way, I watched "Falling Plates" a while back too. It was a really creative video.
DeleteVery good William. Glad you liked that video too.

ReplyDelete2) Ecclesiastes 5:18 "This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot."
Cross reference: Deuteronomy 12:7 "There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the LORD your God has blessed you"
Bueno Alex!
Delete1. Watched I am An Atheist. Can be really thought provoking for the one that question there is a God or for the agnostic for it gives basic facts of God divine sovereignty over the universe.
ReplyDelete2http://bible.com/111/ecc.5.19.niv Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
Ecclesiastes 3:13
moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor-- it is the gift of God.
Sorry. Couldn't find phone charger as it dies on Mr last night.
Bueno Ismael!
DeleteSorry I didn't post yesterday. I completely forgot about it until I was on the train this morning.
ReplyDelete1 - I watched Come Home - It's the story of a woman whose daughter becomes a prostitute in the big city and how the mother searcher for her and eventually welcomes her home. The preacher reminds us that God does not care what you’ve done or what you’ve become, He will still welcome you home.
2- Ecclesiastes 6: 9 Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don’t have. Just dreaming about nice things is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
Cross Reference Ecclesiastes 1:14 I observed everything going on under the sun, and really, it is all meaningless--like chasing the wind.
I like this verse, it’s a good reminder to be happy with what I have. God has been good to me and my family, we have what we need and don’t need to have a bigger house or new car to be happy.
Glad to yet read your good words George!
