Th.1.29.15...Coaches Training Month 2 Review Test

Congratulations! You’ve made it almost all the way through month 2 of Coaches Training and you are doing GREAT! Today and tomorrow we want to again take time to review what we’ve learned so that the giant eraser machine doesn’t wipe away what we’ve studied. I guarantee you will pass this test. Today is Part 1. Here's all ya gotta do. Go back over a few of the blogs from Mon.1.5.15 through Fri.1.16.15. (Tomorrow, we’ll cover the last half of January.) You can look at what I wrote or what you wrote.

1.-Pull together 2 things you really liked learning about and post them today. from Jan.5th-16th. Just give me the basics.

2.-By Sunday night, please share one or more of these things with men you’re seeking to recruit to be your protégés. You can call them up or even email them. I’ll ask you Monday if ya got ‘er done. (Remember, you can start encouraging men to apply to be proteges all through the month of February.)

3.-Find someone to quiz you on what MANLY and the HOUSE of Power HOUSE praying stands for. Knock it out today because tomorrow I'm going to ask you if you were able to properly quote it. Good job!

If you have not yet completed your GPD from last week Thursday, which was due Monday, you need to complete it and post your summary tomorrow. Otherwise, please tell me what your consequences should be:) I won't let your proteges disrespect you either. (Who loves ya?)

Optional: If you’re looking for something in God’s word to read today, here’s one of my favorite passages regarding Paul- Acts 20:17-38. You could also copy down one of the phrases from it on your MP3 card. I’m making this optional because I don’t want to give you too much today. (Who loves ya?)

4.-R? (As it's been said, "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do.") I'll post an R here for a man I tried to help who was sliding into false teaching. He still is upset with me. I hope Pastor Mike and I together can resolve this and his animosity toward me. I'd appreciate your prayers. Thanks. This actually underscores good news that I'm eager to share with you at our next M3 meeting at Jack's Feb.8th at 3:00PM. And of course you are welcome for the 1:00 DVD Bible study.

  1. 1.- a. Learning to use thanksgiving as a weapon against temptation was a new and very useful discovery for me. I have since put into practice, being thankful for so many undeserved blessings has reminded me that true joy can only come from a meaningful relationship with God and not from anything this world has to offer.
    b. In 1 John 4:4 we read "The one who is in you is greater than the one who is the world" It has been great to able to use this verse to claim victory when praying for the two brother that I hope will become protégés. Also this verse reminds me that God is greater than any obstacle or temptation I may be facing in life.

3.- Did it . Acts 20:24 "But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. "

  2. 1. Two points that stuck out to me this month were on intentional influence as a leader and cultivating our prayer life through powerhouse prayer.
"But a true leader is committed to intentional influence. He’s not waiting around for people to ask him for directions, so he can influence them. He’s intentionally seeking to influence others. Put another way, the godly leader (coach/mentor) is committed to carrying out the great commission to influence others to know and grow in Christ who will then go reproduce other followers of Christ. (We'd say our co-mission is "to multiply MANLY men.")"
"Seek to cultivate your prayer life for the rest of your life. Read articles about prayer and read the weekly prayer blog. (Please express thanks to your prayer partners from time to time.) Our lines of communication with our King is something that the enemy greatly attacks. Protect your prayer life. It's a big rock that is so easy to neglect. The word of God and prayer are such mighty weapons- they are the sword of the Spirit and the spear of the Spirit."

  3. 1a) 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

I'm thankful to God that he does not abandoned us when we are tempted, He even provides a way out.

1b) 1) Revelation 2:3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

I pray that we do not grow tired of advancing the Kingdom of God. I pray that we persevere through hardships and rejoice in persecution for God. In the short five years that I have been coming to New Life, I have seen leaders come and go. I pray that my M3 brothers continue to fight the good fight, I pray that you will stay committed to the Lord. May God bless you all with endurance.

3a)24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

3b)32 “Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

May we strive to help other brothers inherit the kingdom of God.

  5. 1. A couple of major points I picked out of these past blogs were:
    (a) Thank you Lord Jesus for giving us a very real "Powerful picture of Spiritual Warfare taking place in Dan. 10: 11-14 that says "He (an angel) said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling. Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”
It appears Daniel was fasting for at least 3 weeks for the Lord to reveal His vision and will to him, and we see the spiritual warfare taking place as Daniel's answer to prayer was held up for 3 weeks by a demon, under the control of satan. Wow, I do not fully understand how spirit beings fight but all I know is that I need to consistently and persistently Pray for God's will to continue to be revealed in my life and now, in the lives of my band of brothers here!! Ephesians 6: 10-18 teaches us to put on the full armor of God, because this battle is not won in the physical realm, but in the spiritual realm! I am so glad that we are also encouraged to enlist people that we really want to pray for us on a daily basis as we need to be covered by prayer more than ever.

(b). . I chose Revelation 5:11-13, which states "Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
--- This verse reminds me of the Lord's Prayer and the portion that states “For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever." In Revelation 5, we see 100,000,000 Angels ( 10,000 X 10,000 ) singing Praise to the Father and the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ :) Wow, what a powerful vision this was! I just Love the Praise and adoration to the Lamb! To just imagine these 100,000,000 spiritual beings (angels) giving honor and praise to Christ, and one day we, as brothers in the Lord, will join them! I cannot wait for that Day! Woo Hoo :)

  6. The two things that stuck out was - I Peter 5:8 Be alert and sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. NLV. This caught my attention because it is a constant reminder that the devil is always trying to take souls away from God. We know God is more powerful than the devil. But we are at times weak in the flesh. So stay strong and keep in the Word and we will all be welcome in God's house.

It's good to know that there are other men out there that have the same mind set about what God expects from us. It's not by good deeds that will get us in heaven it's the personal relationship with God and striving to be a good example for God so others would want to have what we have in God.

Did it. Acts 20:24. Great verse

  7. 1. I have truly enjoyed and learned a lot from this M3 group and especially Dave--thanks for all your hard work and dedication Dave.
I liked learning all about the Lord's prayer and especially "Lead us not into temptation" shed light on how to deal with the evil one's ploys for me. Don't believe the devil's lies, keep away from our temptations and what was tripping us up in the 1st place, rely on our Lord as we pray constantly to him to avoid bad thoughts. The after taste of sin is terrible as I couldn't see the light before because of guilt and shame, whereas now I lean on the word and prayer to avoid temptation, and the Lord as I dedicated my heart to the Lord.

Powerhouse Praying has also helped shape me, as I have learned to rejoice always(almost), pray often, and give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Th. 5:16-18
I seek God's will through the word and prayer, as I make decisions. I am in the word daily, lean on the Lord for my strength, try to always encourage others, and live by his commands.

  8. 1) A= I learned about the “secret” power principle of influence. Asking GOD. Psalm 60:11-12
Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies

B= I learned about the importance of power HOUSE praying. Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Its been a great month. I've learned so much this month. I even got more insight on certain books of the bible.

  9. 1. I really enjoyed being reminded of the resolute steadfastness of Daniel. Daniel's ability to "see" the battle shaping up while being surrounded by people and ideas that were in direct opposition to the words and will of God reminds me of my daily life as a CPS teacher. Also, the entire study on the Lord's prayer refocused my attention on the power of prayer.
    2. Working on it
    4. Lifting you up in prayer regarding your R Dave.

  10. 1A) From 1/9/15 (Power House Praying) “
Dave's training: “We need to develop a strong prayer life. As it’s been said, “Little prayer, little power; much prayer, much power.” I like to take prayer walks to “fetch power” from God for you, for myself, my family and others. If you don’t already have a daily prayer habit of walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, etc in battle, I want to encourage you to begin one."
I've purposely chose to walk to and from work (weather permitting) which takes about 40 minutes. I would either listen to Moody Radio, or NPR or downloaded sermons from New Life. The M3 training challenged me to use this time for praying – including some power house praying. What a boost this has been in my spiritual life. It is becoming a habit and I really look forward to this time.
1B) 1/15/15 (Influence your Father). Dave's training: “James reminds us how vitally important it is that we ask- “You do not have because you do not ask God” James 4:2. -Since being a part of M3, the “asking” in my praying has increased in several ways. I'm asking more. I'm asking for greater things from God. I'm asking for things that really impact eternity.

  11. 1.I love the way The Lord's Prayer was broken down and explain. In my 30 years on the fire department we had to Stand watch and answer the office when they gave us a fire or a medical emergency. Some of the guys would bring a recliner or a mattress to lay down on watch. The speaker would crack and that was enough to wake you up to answer the call.
    2.Great verse Acts 20:24 NIV
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Thank you Lord Jesus.

  12. 1. Two things I enjoyed that we covered were learning about when we're most vulnerable. H.A.L.T. remembering I am most vulnerable to temptation when I'm Hungry Angry Lonely or Tired. The second thing we covered and that I found value in was when we talked about God as a loving father in which we must petition or ask of to receive.

  13. 1. Two things that opened my eyes... is doing something practical but powerful when "temptation" can become so enticing especially in areas of H.A.L.T= Hungry, angry, lonely, tired.. By always being alert of my weakness and doing something small but impactful (whispering and proclaiming who I am in Christ).
Other is being an "intentional influencer" not just a influencer, knowing my co-mission.

    Ask seek Knock
Affirmative and attacking in the Spirit with prayer:
As prayer warriors we are enlisted into an ongoing battle that takes place on a different level. There is more to Ask Seek and Knock than just the lessons from the past about getting what you want and desire. We are asking for WARRIORS to join the fight and get off of the couch for a mighty calling. When we put the A down on the blog here there is meaning and power behind it that evil forces as well as our own natures will not prevail against

    1b
    Follow Me
This Phrase is so meaningful to me in this season as I get back into ministry with other men. It is my hope and constant prayer that when we say "follow me" other do not take it lightly and are fully willing and enabled by Christ who redeems and brings life. As Jesus himself says "On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matt 7:22-23

Let out protégés follow in rightful footsteps as we follow our own mentors. Let's follow that we can do a good work

  15. 1) 1-5-15 Keep a healthy distance from your personal temptations. Like landmines you only need to be close enough. 1-12-15 Be committed to intentional influence. Know what your doing and why your doing it, know where your leading people. Many times lost people don't even know there lost, just that there not where they want to be and that they don't know how to get there. That's where we step in, at times we'll be rewarded at times we'll be rejected.

GDP- New testament survey for the book of Titus.Titus was left by Paul on the island of Crete to establish leadership in every city. There were two types of influences 1) The godly qualified by their righteous character and 2) The Sinful characterized by their rebellion. The solution was sharp rebuke and correction. Among the laity there were instructions for the various groups including men, women, young and old. There motivation for rejection evil temptations and pursuing good deeds was the future promised return of Jesus. The focus was to be on doing good, rejecting people who continually cause division and remembering that all that we do and don't do is because of "all" Jesus has done for us.
