Tues.1.13.15...Influencing Servant's to See

Yesterday we focused on the fact that leadership is “intentional influence.” We have been commissioned to intentionally influence others- “to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light from the power of Satan to God” Acts 26:18. Lost people need to have their eyes open. Why? “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” 2 Cor.4:4. We will be equipping you with some simple, but extremely powerful eye opening gospel tools down the road. It's true- without Christ, people are so easily deceived.

But first we need to focus on opening the eyes of Christians who are blind to what God has called them to be- multipliers of MANLY (Christlike) men. Many don't seem not recognize that there is a war going on, that there are spiritual forces of wickedness to fight against. But God has revealed such to us- “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Eph.6:12 ESV. Look at that first phrase again. I’m afraid that the first five words of that verse better describes the state of most Christian men today. They do not wrestle. Instead, they nestle in front of their TV screens and are being entertained to death. (By the way, part of my fast this week is a TV fast. Not that I watch much of it- I do like a good movie. But I want to take such time that I would sit with the family and instead devote the time to such transforming things as the word of God, study, writing, talking to men regarding M3 and prayer.)

We need to intentionally influence Christian men, cooperating with God to open their eyes and see the invisible war. Sadly, many “servants of God,” Christian men, are blind to this and their mission to open the eyes of others. God himself declared this ironic tragedy- “Who is blind like my servant, and deaf like the messenger I send?" Isaiah 42:19. We all have been sent by Christ (Mt.28:19), but many believers are deaf and blind to what’s going on.

1.-Read 2 Kings 6:8-23. Note especially v.17. Now write down on your MP3 card the names of the men you listed before that you want to intentionally influence to join us for battle in this spiritual war. We can win! We can see blinded men healed and helping us. There are more for us, than against us. But we must pray and reach out. Pray that God would open His servants eyes to see- to realize, with real eyes of faith, the invisible realm, and to see their MANLY calling. Pray that they would fight the good fight of faith with us against the invisible forces of wickedness keeping men blinded and sidelined. If they are coach quality men, talk to them and me as well. If they would be potentially good protégés, we will be ready for them to join us in just a month and a half. Pray that they would see and seize the opportunity when you present it to them.

2.-There are more for us, than against us. The New Testament puts it this way- “the one who is in you (the Spirit) is greater than the one (Satan) who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4. Write that Scripture portion down on your MP3 card for meditation, prayer, praise and passing it on today. Then after you’ve written it down, do the “Did it.”

3.R?

4.-A? (Since yesterday when you commented on the blog, did you ASK- Ask, Seek, Knock that God would open people up to their calling, that men would hunger for God and God’s way for them? Then give yourself a big A!

Announcements
Your sharing at our Sunday meeting has stirred some other visitors who were with us to seriously consider joining M3. I look forward to hopefully introducing a few more good men soon.

  2. 1.- Did it. Wrote the name of two brothers on my card so that I will be reminded everyday to pray intentionally for them.
2.- Did it. 1 John 4:4 " The one who is in you (the spirit) is greater than the one (satan) who is in the world."

What a great verse to meditate on all day, to be able to claim victory for the two brothers that I will be intentionally praying for. Thank you Lord that you are much greater than any obstacle or temptation that I may face in life.

  8. I need to be reminded often, John 4:4. Unless we stay focused, daily distractions can drown out or screen the Holy Spirit that resides in all of us. Prayer and meditation is the best way to keep it coming in loud and clear, and I am working on it. The noise of the "world" can easily begin to make a man lose heart. I pray all my brothers stay strong in the Spirit and the Word. Did it. Did it, and God bless you all.

What awesome weapons we have in prayer and the Word, that God will use to remove the spiritual blindness of Christian men in the church and the spiritual darkness in the world.

Wow, what a bible story, to see in the spiritual realm! Oh God, help me and the rest of these Manly Men daily to know, that we know, that we know, that we know, that there is a spiritual battle out here (everyday) and that we are more than an overcomers in Christ Jesus :) Greater is He is in me, than he who is in the world, Amen.

We had NL Midway small group leader and assistants meeting on Tuesday night and had more men in those roles then any other time in the last 2 years. We also had 6 M3 men who are leaders or assistants, including Israel who is going to be leading a group this winter semester. I had a smile as I looked around and noticed all my M3 brothers!
